After he graduated, Dr. Martinez worked for a prominent dentist who created smiles for movie stars and professional athletes. He decided to return to Paramount to offer quality dentistry, with that special touch of care that every family deserves. Even though he returned to Paramount, some of his patients travel long distances and even out-of-state to continue their dental health care with Dr. Martinez.
Dr. Martinez continues to strive for perfection, and he was awarded a Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry(FAGD) and recently another Fellowship from the American College of Dentists (FACD). He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Associationwhere he serves as a delegate, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and The Academy of General Dentistry. He is past President of the Harbor Dental Society. He has belonged to several study groups, including the USC Rehabilitation Study Group, and the Loma Linda University Implant Surgery Study Group, where he performed Implant Surgery. He is among a select group of general dentists who are certified by the State of California in Pediatric Oral Sedation. Early in his career his knowledge in dentistry was already respected, being a guest speaker on television and radio talk shows.
Throughout his accomplished career, Dr. Martinez has been committed to education, giving back to the community and making a difference. He has sat on many boards, including the Cerritos College Educational Advisory Board and the Paramount Chamber of Commerce Executive Board, holding the office of president three times. He was also selected as one of the original board members of the Paramount Education Program, been a member of the Gateway Cities Partnership Board, the Elks Student of the Month Chairman, and Most Valuable Citizen Chairman, not to mention his involvement in the PTA while his children were growing up. He and his family have donated time performing dentistry for the underprivileded in programs such as LA Care, RAM, and he helped organize a free dental clinic in Paramount for the children and adults.
Dr. Tsao was born in Taiwan. When he was 12 years old, he and his family immigrated to the United States and settled in Cerritos, CA. He graduated from Cerritos High School in 1996 as the valedictorian of his class and went on to earn a bachelors degree in biology from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in 2000. He has always had an immense interest in the healthcare fields, but also harbored a passion for art and technology, so he ventured to the San Francisco Bay Area where he worked as a web developer and graphic designer. Although he found his work rewarding, he missed the close personal relationships and privilege to work on the human body that are unique to being a healthcare provider. After careful research, he decided on a career in dentistry and never looked back. In 2007, he graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry among the top of his class. He earned numerous awards for his academic achievements and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
After graduation, Dr. Tsao pursued additional training by completing a residency program in general dentistry at the VA hospital in Long Beach, where he treated our countrys veterans. Dr. Tsao then began his career as an associate dentist at several practices in Los Angeles County and Orange County. When his fiance finished her training as an ophthalmologist and found a position in Oakland, CA, Dr. Tsao relocated to Northern California and happily married the love of his love.
Dr. Tsao and his wife enjoyed successful careers in Oakland, but always longed to return to Southern California where they both grew up. In 2015, Dr. Tsao and his wife happily moved back to Cerritos, and shortly after, Dr. Tsao joined Dr. Martinezs successful practice. Dr. Tsao was drawn to Dr. Martinezs practice because they share the same dental philosophy they strive to build long-lasting partnerships with their patients that are based on honesty and personal, gentle dental experiences.
Dr. Tsao remains committed to honing his knowledge and skills by regularly attending continuing education courses and study clubs. He is a member of the American Dental Society, California Dental Society, and Orange County Dental Society. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his wife, playing sport, and cheering on the Lakers.

Like most people, I don't really like going to the dentist. It's not that I am s cared, but the last dentist I went to circa 2010 lied to me about cost and I ended up with a $500 bill after. But with Dr Martinez, that doesn't happen. His staff is probably one of the nicest staffs of any kind of medical that I have ever experienced! They had some regular patients in there who knew everyone by name and seemed happy to be there at the dentist! From the front desk, to the dental assistant, hygienist, and of course Dr Martinez, everyone was wonderful and explained every step. They could tell I hadn't been in years and didn't chastise me whatsoever. They just told me what they were going to do to help, how to maintain, and set another appointment for me as a follow up. It was such a painless experience! I have another appointment in a week and am not afraid whatsoever. I highly recommend coming here!

Amazing service, Max is so kind and gental I'm finally getting stuff done I've needed to do for years. Ive grown up going to a old school dentist and have nightmares of hurt and pain and I go in expecting the worst but all those experience are in the past as Max using the latest and greatest to make the experience as smooth and painless as possible.

I have had dentist fears since I was very young. Even getting a cleaning is stressful for me. Dr. Martinez and the whole staff is very understanding of my fears and always does their best to put my fears at ease. I recently broke a tooth while on vacation. Thankfully, it was able to wait until I could get into the office about a week later. I have been a patient of his for over 15 years and I don't trust my teeth to anyone else. Thanks Dr. Martinez!!
