I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Swift's care. If you need a root canal, I recommend her in the strongest possible terms. I was referred to Dr. Swift for an emergency root canal a couple of weeks ago. She saw me the next morning, even though it meant an extra trip into the office for her. When I got there, I was in so much pain that I couldn't think straight. She was gentle and reassuring, and administered the initial shot of anaesthetic (usually my least favorite part of dental work) slowly enough that I felt literally no pain at all. Unfortunately, my tooth and jaw were so inflamed that it wasn't possible to numb them entirely. She numbed them as much as they could be numbed (again, with the kind of patience and thoroughness that minimized my pain in the process), and then succeeded in removing enough of the problematic tissue that I was able to go home in very little pain. There's not much good that can be said about incompletely anaesthetized dental work, but there's a *lot* of good that can be said about a dentist who can manage it with enough patience, gentleness, deftness, and skill that it is bearable. Dr. Swift was that dentist. I went in today for the remainder of the root canal. Even though I was ten minutes late to my appointment, Dr. Swift was willing to see me. As with my first appointment, she did an incredibly professional job. Without the inflammation that had complicated the first procedure, it was almost completely painless, which is a rarity in dental work of any kind. I'm not a dentist, but I've had more than my fair share of root canals (double digits, anyway). I can tell when a dentist is doing a slapdash job, and when they're being careful and through. Dr. Swift was the most careful and thorough endodontist I've ever seen, and explained to me what she was doing throughout the process so that I knew what to expect. Here's the highest recommendation I know how to bestow: if any of my kids ever needs a root canal, I'm taking them to Dr. Swift. Don't go to anyone else for a root canal. Dr. Swift is quite simply the best.

Absolutely disgusted by a conversation I overheard between Dr Swift and another patient regarding making a substantial profit from dentistry (charging $1200 for a root canal) followed by Dr Swift stating that 90% of her job is examining and that "anyone trained can do a root canal" while waiting for my exam which was scheduled at 11am and wasn't seen until 11:50. This is the most disrespectful dental office I've ever been to. And if anyone trained can do a root canal like she claimed, then I'm choosing ANYONE else.
