Dr. Daniel Halasz grew up in Myrtle Beach, SC and attended Clemson University for his undergraduate education. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and fulfilled the requirements to achieve departmental honors from the Calhoun Honors College. After Clemson, Dr. Halasz enrolled in the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine and graduated in 2004. He completed additional residency training at MUSC in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program.

After completing his dental education, Dr. Halasz moved to Mauldin, SC to practice general dentistry and joined the team at Mauldin Family Dentistry in 2012. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association and the Greenville County Dental Society.

Dr. Halasz married his lovely wife Beth on Valentine's Day 2009, and they have a precious daughter named Merin, and a spunky son named Silas. Since his wife is also a Clemson graduate, they love to attend football games together on Saturdays in the fall. Dr. Halasz's other hobbies include spending time with his family, working on classic cars, playing guitar (poorly), and doing yard work.

*Dr. Carpenter retired from dentistry in June of 2015, and passed away in August of 2020. He is dearly missed by all of his staff, family and friends. Please read the letter below that Dr. Carpenter wrote to his patients upon his retirement.

Over 40 years of my life have been spent in two 1500 square foot buildings in Mauldin. Over that time, I have surrounded myself with people who chose me and like me, and I love them back. I wish I could be here to say farewell to each of you individually, but for many of you, this letter will have to do.

As you know, three and half years ago, I made the decision to have Dr. Daniel Halasz take over my practice. I chose Dr. Halasz because I wanted to leave my patients, my practice and my employees in good hands. I knew then, as I do now, that I made the right decision. Since that time, I have served as an employee dentist at Mauldin Family Dentistry, LLC. I have thoroughly enjoyed these extra years in dentistry, but I have decided to retire from active practice effective June 30th, 2015.

It is with great joy that I can leave the practice knowing that all of you who care about and who have supported me over the years will have an easy transition to the gentle, caring and extremely competent dentist I know Dr. Halasz to be. You will also have the same supporting part of the practice, which is our wonderful staff. Dr. Halasz, with Debbie's gentle assistance, will be the dentist I choose for my dental treatment. Cindy and Kris, with their excellent hygiene skills and beautiful personalities, will be myhygienists. I will look forward to having loving conversations with Laura and Cindy during myvisits up front.

I will miss seeing each of you, finding out what is going on in your lives, and enjoying your personalities. If I find some of those days with nothing on my agenda, you may see me up here, just getting a lift from hanging out with those of you who may be in the office that day.

Sonya was born and raised in the Upstate of South Carolina. She earned a Dental Assisting degree at Greenville Technical College in August of 2010. She has worked in General and Pediatric Dentistry. She carries certifications in nitrous oxide, dental radiographs, and chairside assisting with CPR. She has been married to her best friend, Mickey, since 2004. They have two small children: Peyton MacKenzie, and Dominic Solomon. She attends church at Potters Clay Fellowship where she is active in the ministry for toddlers. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and Clemson football in her spare time. Go Tigers!

Debbie is a graduate of McCarrie Schools of Health Sciences and Technology in Philadelphia, PA. After moving to South Carolina, she returned to school earning an Associate of Science degree from Greenville Technical College. She is the offices OSHA Manager and is passionate about providing patients with a high level of excellent care. Debbie and her husband Ron have two children and three grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys exploring antique shops and antique car shows, quilting/sewing, gardening and canning. She and her husband are active members of their church, where they serve as care group leaders and where Debbie coordinates the Baskets of Joy Ladies Ministry for Cancer patients.

Kris graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. She feels blessed to have worked at Mauldin Family Dentistry for the past 25 years and has enjoyed getting to know her patients and their families. She still gets excited to see improvements in her patients oral health. Kris and her husband, Kevin, have been married for 33 years and have three children and one grandchild. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, boating, cross stitching and volunteering at her church.

Krystal graduated in 2012 from SUNY Broome Community College with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene, and is licensed to administer local anesthesia. She moved here from New York in 2014 and now considers South Carolina her permanent home. She joined Mauldin Family Dentistry in April of 2021. She loves meeting new people and forming connections with her patients. She looks forward to coming to work everyday to help her patients leave with healthy smiles. Krystal enjoys spending quality time with her husband Alex and their two childen Ariyana and Karson. In her free time, she likes hiking, watching movies and coaching her kids' soccer teams.

Beth graduated in 1988 from Greenville Technical College, and joined Mauldin Family Dentistry on a part-time basis in July of 2019. We are so excited that she has joined our team full time as of September of 2021. In her 33 years practicing, she has found dental hygiene to be a rewarding career. Beth grew up in Simpsonville and has lived there all her life. She has two children. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano, spending time at the lake, and socializing with friends and family.

Laura has been a member of the team since 2012. Laura graduated with a B.S. in Marketing and a Minor in Travel & Tourism from Clemson University in 2002. Although she spent 7 years in Advertising, what she enjoys most is working with people, and her job at the front desk of Mauldin Family Dentistry allows her to do just that. She helps to coordinate and schedule treatments, interpret and estimate insurance coverage and make financial arrangements with patients. In addition, she has the pleasure of working with the best dentist in the upstate and a very talented and friendly staff that truly care about their patients. In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband Mike and their two beautiful daughters, getting together with friends, traveling, and cheering on her Clemson Tigers.

Amanda has been in the dental industry since 2000. She started working as a Dental Assistant, and later became cross-trained at the Front Desk. She began at Mauldin Family Dentistry by filling in, and we were very happy for her to join our team full-time in May 2021. She is an avid cookie baker and has a small business called 'Amanda 's Incredible Edibles'. Other than baking, she also likes to craft and spend quality time with her 12 year old daughter and husband.
