Dr. Sonia Gupta is a general dentist with specialized training in hospital dentistry. In addition to her hospital work in Hawai'i, she also worked as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF (The University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry). At UCSF, she worked under the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery, training the general practice residency students in providing dental care in the hospital, in nursing homes and preparing patients for radiation treatment.
After graduating from U.C. Berkeley in 2002 with a double major, Dr. Gupta completed her dental training at UCSF. She also completed a Hospital Dentistry residency program at the VA Medical Center in San Francisco. Dr. Gupta is currently licensed by the Dental Board of Hawaii and the Dental Board of California. She volunteers with several non-profit dental and medical groups locally and overseas.

I am so grateful for the support of Dr. Hannah Lewis during my vacation to Maui. I had a tooth abscess and bad pain. Due to appointment scheduling was quick and easy. We did have to pay for emergency costs, but we have overseas health insurance. Dr. Lewis was very nice and calm. I felt well taken care of. She followed me for days and always wanted to know about the healing process. I was able to contact her at any time. Dr. Lewis consulted with her colleagues and did everything she could to make me feel better. Her dedication was truly outstanding. I felt well taken care of at all times. Thanks to Dr. Lewis' help, we ended up having a great time on Maui. I highly recommend the dental office.

Like others, day one of vacation started with a bad toothache (my first in many years). Dr Sonia Gupta and her assistant Monica were excellent. Sonia is a very good listener and is clearly passionate about her profession and helping others in time of need (as evidenced by photos of her mission work). Not inexpensive, but as usual you get what you pay for, and being seen on such a short notice and with the degree of care saved my holiday, was outstanding and much appreciated :)

My wife's crown fell out the night before an early morning flight to Maui. There was no time to see her regular dentist and she opted to see a dentist when we arrived on Maui. Before departure, The Maui Dental Group responded immediately to our emergency request, and she had an appointment scheduled upon arrival. They were very clear on cost so there were no surprises for this out of pocket expense. Dr. Gupta was AMAZING! She walked my wife through every step of the procedure, and in less than an hour, her crown was fixed and she could enjoy her vacation. Thank you, Dr. Gupta! You're a GREAT dentist!

Broke my veneer while on vacation in Kihei, which could have ruined by entire holiday, but now it's just another story for the trip thanks to Dr. Gupta. Broke the veneer Wednesday night, and I was back smiling at the beach like nothing happened by 10am the next morning. The replacement looks great, and the overall experience was Dr. Gupta was excellent. Seriously one of the best dental experiences I've had.

I cracked a tooth at airport in Texas on our way to Maui. When we landed, we found the information for the Maui Dental Group. They were able to take me as an emergency on a Sunday. Dr. Gupta and her team were extremely professional and went above an beyond to make sure I was taken care of. I highly recommend them especially if you have a dental emergency while traveling.

They do not stand by their work. I got a crown only 3 years ago and I am told now it must be replaced. Full cost of replacement to me. I did not do the installation myself so not sure how I should be liable for the full cost. I should have not gotten a crown there. Lesson learned.

2nd day of a two week vacation broke half a molar off eating breakfast. Found the only office open doing emergency dental on Saturday. Dr. Gupta was excellent! Got me out of the office less than an hour with repaired tooth. Although quite expensive, she saved my vacation and for that I'm grateful!

Can`t recommend these people enough; Dr. Hannah Lewis took us in late on a Saturday night and did an AMAZING job making it look good as new while being so full of compassion and care and heart. I almost cried at how such a scary situation turned out really okay when all was said and done. Words don`t fully express my gratitude for Dr. Lewis.

Took my grandson in with a mouth full of problems. This group saved his teeth while making sure his first experience was a good one. He has always enjoyed seeing them, and hasn't had a cavity since. Ive been to so many dentist with my children and now grandchildren through the years, and these folks are the best!!

Dr. Kelly Wojcicki was amazing in helping me when I got a chipped front tooth on my first day of vacation. She took the time to explain to exam the tooth and use her expertise in cosmetic bonding to fix me up within the same appointment time. She took the time to explain what she was doing and made me feel comfortable with her treatment plan. Dr. Wokcicki then with great care took time in fixing my bonding to make it look as natural as possible. She also went through future options with me if I was to have additional issues when I went back to the mainland. I couldn't be more thankful for my outcome leaving Maui Dental Group and not having to schedule an emergency appointment when I got back home.

Going to the dentist may never be as much fun as going to the beach (lol), but Dr. Vargas and her team certainly bring aloha to their craft. This was the best dentist appointment I have ever had period. I was traveling on business to Maui when my tooth went completly 200% pain. Their 24 hour hot line person calmed me down and got me set up with an appointment. After the appointment they check on me at least 3 times and helped me get home with the correct medication. AND checked on me again state side.
