The actual pediatric dental care was great, but how they run the office and communicate with patients is terrible. 8/10 calls to them just ring until they go to voicemail and you can't get anyone on the phone. It took me days of calling periodically to get someone on the phone to schedule the first visit after being referred to them. After the first diagnostic visit we then had to wait MONTHS for the first available slot to actually do any work. They gave me a bunch of details verbally, but then didn't give me anything in writing, especially for the cost. I was told in advance one price for the the services (verbally), but only find out after the fact when the bill arrives that they are apparently out of network which means that we owe thousands more than we were told. Every doctor I have been to will clarify that before proceeding that a service is going to be out-of-network before and up front about the increased cost. Our final cost is about double what were initially verbally quoted. Essentially does not participate in-network with dental insurances. Being out of network is one thing, but the constant stream of poor communication and surprise bills have left a sour taste in our mouths. They implied that everything would take place at one hospital, only to find out at the last minute that the procedure will be at a different hospital than we originally thought. We already had negative feelings about the whole experience before the bills came in, and that was just the last nail in the coffin. We will not be returning and if you do go here ask for everything in writing.

What a terrific experience!! My 7 year old had several cavities and I took her to many places to get consultation on the work that needed to be done. When I found Katie Mathews and her office I knew they were professional, knowledgeable and so worth the drive! My daughter had a great experience and no pain!! Happy momma right now!

Our 2 yr old hit his teeth on the edge of the wood steps on Sat. We pushed a tooth back in that was dislocated and hoped for the best. By Mon the tooth beside it came out, his gum was swollen, and his breath smelled. Tue my dentist saw him, x-rayed, and referred to Dr. Katie as a pediatric dentist. She was able to get him in on Wed and same day did two extractions. What we didn't know until she started was that the two bottom front teeth had shattered into multiple fragments and infection had started to set in. She was able to get all of the pieces, and just a few hours later he ate some soft cheese and fruit and is obviously feeling so much better! All the staff was AMAZING as they helped to get him in, to keep him smiling as much as possible, and to reassure me, the parent, and to be sure that I understood the entire process. We're forever indebted to Dr. Katie and staff and HIGHLY recommend if you're looking for a dentist for little or big people.

Matthews dental is such a kind and comfortable dentists office. We book way far ahead so we get the appointment slots that we want. If you have to change there is a wait to get back in but it is worth waiting for. Dr. Katie is the kindest, calmest, most compassionate pediatric dentist I have ever met. Our kids are completely comfortable in the dentist chair and we have always been seen immediately at the time of our appointment with no waiting. The hygienists are so nice, gentle and effective and kids actually look forward to their cleaning in front of a TV. The front desk ladies are sweet and provide excellent customer service. We've never had a billing hiccup or an issue. No overcharging or insurance issues. In short we will never leave until they kick us out!

Tiffany, the receptionist, lacks communication and empathy skills on the phone and in person. Her demeanor makes you feel extremely unwelcome, and rushed. The dental assistant is extremely warm and pleasant, and was truly the only staff member that was professional and kind.

Horrible! Desk staff very rude. Dr. Matthews gave us options to remove 2 of my 6 year olds teeth and when I said I was uncomfortable putting him under anesthesia because our family has history of not waking from it, she said she won't take the teeth out any other way, even though she originally gave us options. I wish I could rate her a zero but google makes it so I have to put 1 Star. Beware of this horrible practice.

Me and Dan (Dr. Matthews) were partners in fixing my tooth. I followed directions as best I could while I let him perform his magic. My front left tooth was knocked out in a basketball game. He took me in an emergency visit on a Friday morning. It was some roller coaster ride. At times, it seemed he wanted me to have my tooth in more than I did. We finally got the new crown today and I couldn't be happier. I can smile again without feeling self-conscious. Dr. Katie always makes my two boys happy every visit. The dental hygienists are always so kind and polite. The entire Matthews Dental Associates team deserves 5 stars.

I was referred to this office by my dentist for my 4 year old daughter, who has several teeth with big cavity. We went to a family dentist and then referred to Dr. Matthew because we were seeking second opinion about my daughter's teeth condition. One tooth hurt when I brushed her teeth. But it took a long time for us to get our first appointment. I called in September and was given an appointment on November 1. After the x-ray, doctor Kattie said the tooth that hurt need to be removed. but she couldn't do it because it was under inflammation. She said my daughter needed to be on antibiotics for 7 days before her tooth could be removed. But when we tried to arrange for the next visit to have her teeth removed, the office said the earliest appointment was 12/28/2017, which was almost two month later. I didn't give the antibiotics to my daughter because I didn't know whether the inflammation would come back in two months. Plus she didn't complain tooth pain until I brushed that teeth. I decided to go back to the original pediatric dentist that my daughter had seen for more than one year, which is also closer to us. We got in very soon on November 8 and the doctor told us that she could take her bad tooth out on that day without any antibiotics. She said my daughter didn't need to have the antibiotics because her face didn't swollen at all. I was happy I didn't give my daughter antibiotics and agreed to have her bad tooth removed on that day. But before the doctor could remove her teeth, she needed x-ray. But we had done complete x-ray in Dr. Kattie Matthew's office. So the current office called Dr. Matthew's office to try to get the x-ray transferred. But Dr. Matthew's office refused because they said they haven't got the payment from insurance. That is understandable. SO I paid another x-ray out of my pocket for that tooth so that I could get the tooth removed. The current doctor did a very nice job in removing my daughter's tooth. She didn't cry at all. She was watching movies while the doctor pulled her tooth. She didn't know her tooth was pulled until I gave her the tooth. While I was waiting, Dr. matthew's office called me and said they could schedule us in sooner. I declined the offer and decided to do all the other teeth in current office since it is closer to my house and I think the current doctor is more experienced. Today I am still waiting for the release of the x-ray from Dr. Matthew's office to schedule other appointment for my daughter. The current office told us to wait for one month. So I called the insurance company today to check whether the payment has been made to Dr. Matthew's office. To my surprise, the insurance company told me that the whole amount had been paid on November 7th, one day before I visited my current doctor. I called Dr. Matthew's office and request the x-ray. But the office said they had not received the payment from the insurance and refused to forward the X-ray to my current doctor. I explained to them that I had called the insurance company and my online account also showed that the total amount had been processed and paid to Dr. MAtthew's office. The office said they would call the insurance company to figure out why they had not received the payment. After waiting for a while, I decided to call the insurance company myself to find out how can an office not receive payment when the insurance company said they had paid one month ago. I explained the situation and the insurance company said they did pay directly to the office's account and they didn't know why the office said they didn't receive the payment. So the insurance company got the office manager on the phone too. The office manager of Dr. Matthew got on the phone said that she needed to look into the account and would get back to me. So I let it go and thought that they should easily figured it out. But I didn't get any phone call or email from the dental office by the end of the day. I am very disappointed about my experience with Dr. Matthew's office.
