Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Your estimated patient portion must be paid at the time of service. As a service to our patients, we will bill insurance companies for services. If you have any questions, our courteous staff is always available to answer them.

If your insurance covers orthodontic treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal costs. Many insurance policies have a lifetime orthodontic benefit that is distinct from regular dental insurance. Once treatment has started, we will file your orthodontic claim. If your benefits change during the course of treatment, the financially responsible party is accountable for all charges

At our pediatric dental practice in Spring, TX, we want our young patients to be as engaged and excited about their dental care as possible. We want to make our young patients feel as comfortable as possible every time they visit our office. To keep things exciting, we host events throughout the year. From participating in our Halloween parties with a Haunted House and Mothers Day and Fathers Day celebrations, to balloons for our patients, there are many extra perks to visiting our office. Captain Molar is the office mascot for Dr. Matthews and Dr. Dai. You may find Captain Molar at a local community event, or at school, teaching children. Captain Molar and our hygienist, Carol, spend most of their time visiting private and public schools, along with daycare centers in the area.

They love teaching children the importance of good dental hygiene and nutrition. Carol talks about how to brush and floss, and shows the children examples of dental x-rays. Captain Molar also gets brushed by the big toothbrush, and the children enjoy watching him wiggle!

Dr. Minyue Rachel Dai is a board-certified pediatric dentist in Spring, TX. Graduating on the Deans honor list with several scholarships, Dr. Dai received her undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia, Canada, with a Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) in the honors program of biochemistry and molecular biology. She then went on to obtain her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from McGill University, Canada, with the honor of being awarded the Dr. Janet Griffin-Merth Scholarship in Dentistry for her academic and clinical achievements.

After graduation, Dr. Dai decided to make the move to Boston, MA where she received her certificate of General Practice Residency from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She then received her certificate in pediatric dentistry and a master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) from the University of Texas at Houston. Dr. Dai is an accomplished professional in pediatric dentistry and has been involved in several research projects, publishing and presenting several articles and posters in peer-reviewed journals and professional conferences.

Dr. Dai is married to Dr. Daniel Ho, who is a periodontist that specializes in gum disease and dental implants. Together, they have two children Mirabel & Calem. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, hiking, reading, painting, and cooking.

Dr. Richard Matthews received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Texas, where he also completed a Pediatric Dental Specialist Program. He then continued his education at Louisiana State University where he completed a post-doctoral pediatric program in orthodontics.

Dr. Matthews loves giving back to his community and is involved with many volunteer groups including Texas Smile and the San Juan Dental Clinic. In his spare time, youll find him at the golf course, a Houston sporting event, or spending time with his grandchildren.

Dr. Blake Sherrick has a true gift and a love for creating dynamic and radiant smiles. He believes a patients personality will flourish when they have the smile of their dreams! His passion for changing lives through orthodontics radiates from the moment you first meet him. Dr. Blake has a natural ability to personally connect with his patients while engineering their amazing new smiles. Fun fact: prior to joining Matthews & Dai, Dr. Blake was a patient of Dr. Matthews! With the addition of Dr. Blake, he will be available to treat the parents of our patients.

A few of the professional accomplishments he is most proud of are the numerous prestigious educational, inaugural, and clinical awards he has received, including those centered on excellence and leadership. While attending Southern Methodist University, Dr. Blake earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He furthered his education by earning his dental degree at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Blake has since opened multiple dental practices specializing in cosmetic treatment in the Dallas and Ft. Worth area. Dr. Blake served as Chief Resident while completing his specialty in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Roseman University while also earning a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

When he is not taking care of patients, Dr. Blake enjoys running, playing monopoly, and eating anything chocolate. Dr. Blake is committed to being an amazing husband to his loving wife, Paige. They are most proud of the family they have created together with their children Palmer and Campbell and their sweet lab named George.
