Dr. Matthew Lau was born and raised in Alameda, CA. He completed his undergraduate studies at UC Davis. He graduated from the University of California School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Dr Lau has extensive experience working at a family dental practice in San Francisco and San Mateo County, he is experienced in Cosmetic Dentistry and Invisalign Orthodontics.
Dr. Lau is a Fellow of International Oral Implant Society. Dr. Lau is passionate about his work and is always committed to the highest standard of care. His gentle manner and ability to relate to patients make him a favorite dentist among the patients he has worked with.
During his spare time, Dr. Lau likes to build guitars, ride his folding bike, and meet with friends. Despite his busy schedule, Dr. Lau has always valued volunteering his time for community services locally and abroad. He appreciates new cultures and peoples. Dr. Lau is also committed to dental health in the community, participating in free dental clinics plus health fairs, and he was also a board member at the Alameda County Dental Society, and the Alameda City Dental Group.

Today was my first day as a new patient. Every single person I talked to from when I checked in to when I left was beyond sweet. They talked to me as if they were family friends and made me feel so welcome and comfortable. Oddly, the dental office felt like a safe place because it's cozy with friendly faces. Technical equipment looks new and I like the big screen TV that showed me what the dentist was looking at. What was cool was when they put this toothbrush like device in my mouth and took a bunch of pictures, with the shutter click sound of each picture. Then they walked me through each picture on the big screen to talk about each tooth. This was the most informative dentist appointment I've ever had in my life!

My first visit with Dr. Lau was much better than I expected considering it had been years since my last dentist visit. He was personable, friendly, and he actually did my cleaning rather than having a hygienist do it. 100% recommend. P. S. Not related to him

I am usually so scared about dentist that I don't even open my mouth haha, but I had the best experience of my life with a dentist. Doctor Lau is kind, patient and he makes sure that you are not going to feel pain. I left the clinic with my next visit already set. The staff is also amazing!!Thank you

Dr. Lau is by far the most passionate dentist I have ever had. He is very informative and transparent about any procedures you might need done. He just finished my crowns while I was undergoing Invisalign treatment. I could not be more pleased with the results.

I researched long and hard and having a great dentist in NYC, I am really happy with the service, care and work they have provided. Plus, I could easily fall asleep in the chair. Talented dentist who looks for the best technology, tools, products to best serve his patients.

I had a great experience here; I have been to many many dentists in my lifetime, around 10+ and Dr. Lau is definitely the most practical and laid-back dentist I have ever gone to. I love the adaptive dental care advice and attention to details in office equipment and safety. I would highly recommend booking your next dental appointment with Dr. Lau!
