Dr. Brent received his BA from the University of Utah and his DDS for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1979. After completing a General Practice Residency with the VA system in Salt Lake City, he joined his father in private practice in 1980.
During his practice Dr. Brent has been active in the Dental Association having served on multiple boards and committees both locally and nationally. He recently completed an eight-year term on the Utah State Board of Dental Examiners. Dr. Brent stays current and has been awarded a Fellowship and Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, their highest award in continuing education achievement. He is a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the International College of Dentists, both honorary organizations. He has been honored as Dentist of the Year by the Utah Academy of General Dentistry, and was given the Meritorious Service Award by the Utah State Dental Association, their highest honor. He currently reviews manuscripts for a national Dental Journal, and serves as Board Examiner for the Western Regional Dental Board Exam.
Dr. Matt Larson has practiced as a general, implant, and reconstructive dentist in Salt Lake City since graduating from Creighton University and completing his residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital. In 2009 he joined his father, Dr. Brent Larson, in the Downtown area in the same private practice that his grandfather established in 1954.
During his residency, Dr. Matt received advanced training in all aspects of dentistry with a focus on implant surgery and IV sedation (sleep dentistry). He worked alongside some of the most respected and revered specialists in complex crown and bridge work, full mouth reconstruction, implant supported and retained dentures as well as root canals and advanced periodontal surgery, including tissue and bone grafting.
To continue learning and to give back to the community, Dr. Matt remains on staff at the VA Hospital where he works in the general dental department one day per week. Dr. Matt is also a Certifed provider for Clear Correct invisible braces.

This is the best dental office I have ever been to. Not giving it 5-stars because I don't love the way my crowns look. Cost me a pretty penny too.

Been going here for 10 years with my kids. The experience is great. The staff is awesome. I am able to make payments if I can not afford the full bill with no interest. I even brought my mom here for dentures no dental coverage. she was happy with her experience.

Great experience! Dr. Larson and his staff were all excellent and very kind. I was especially impressed with my hygienist, Diane. I came in for a cleaning but also discussed some tooth sensitivity I'd been having. She was able to determine what was likely going on based on my symptoms, took the time to explain the physiology behind it, and made some recommendations that really seem to be helping a lot! I'll definitely be back.

After years of struggling with extreme anxiety surrounding medical and dental procedures, I finally worked up the courage to make an appointment with Dr. Matthew Larson. I can genuinely say that my interactions with him and his staff were healing to me! Both the ladies who helped with my filling and did my cleaning were kind, warm, and accommodating. Dr. Matt has the best bedside manner I've ever experienced from a dentist, and he never made me feel judged for how anxious I was. Instead, he made me feel heard and was extremely patient, gentle, and efficient. I am beyond impressed and feel so grateful for this experience!

For me it's always nerve wracking to move to a new area and find new doctors, dentists etc. who you will love and can trust that will take care of you. I found this dentist office through my insurance and thought I would give them a try. I have to say I am extremely grateful and have been blessed for that decision. This is an absolutely amazing office. The staff is kind, considerate, happy and very friendly. After my first visit, they all remembered my name. It feels like a little family there. I see Matt as my dentist and he is absolutely fantastic. He is super kind and patient and really listens to you. I can tell he cares about people and their health and he makes sure you are taken care of. He really take the time to be friendly and explain everything to you in detail. He has been super helpful and supportive in me looking into getting Invisalign and he sat down and answered all my questions and explained every single option to me. He helped me find my priorities, listened to my budget and made really great suggestions on how to reach my goals within my budget. He didn't pressure me into anything and I can tell he isn't in it for a quick buck $$$. I also had my first cavity this past year and I was terrified about the procedure, Dr. Matt and the staff was super kind and understanding/supportive and everything went very smoothly. I felt no pain and was honestly shocked because of the horror stories I've heard. The filling and everything is perfect. Such honest and talented people here. I can't say enough good things about this place. They really go above and beyond and I would highly recommend anyone looking for great care and great people to come here!

WOW - incredible dentist is all that I can say! My orthodontist recommended Dr. Matt. I had an infected wisdom tooth, and Dr. Matt was responsive right away to my situation and helping me find the best solution to my situation very quickly. I cannot recommend this group enough, not only are they the best at what they do but they are EXTREMELY kind. Wouldn't recommend anyone else.

I came in to Matt Larson dental needing a lot of work done. I hadn't gone to the dentist in years and I had only been a few times in my life. From my first visit the staff was always very kind. They laid out a plan from the very begining and checked in along the way to keep me on course. I now have finished all of my fillings and root canals and have some finishing touches scheduled. If you need some dental work done I would highly recommend going to Matt Larson.

My entire family sees Matt Larson. Had gone to a dentist closer to my home for a tooth ache. He Looked at my mouth for literally 1 minute and based off of that and the x ray said I needed 2 root canals on 2 different teeth. Saw Matt Larson and he spent the time to test both teeth. Walked out with 1 filling only. Definitely recommend. Honest and straight up guy.

Always a pleasure visiting Larson dental. From the initial interaction with reception where your always welcome right through the entire appointment process you feel everyone genuinely cares for your well-being and are interested in seeing you. Dr Matt is fun to be around and make his investigations easy. He always runs through his findings with you. He always makes sure you feel relaxed and keeps you informed with what's going on, especially if you like details like I do. He will always explain the best option tailored around your needs and you feel your being given the best possible treatment. Definitely would recommend anyone consider Larson dental.

I have been going to Larson Dental for almost 40 years. My husband and 4 girls also see Dr. Matt. We love Larson Dental. Everyone is very kind. Dr. Matt is very personable and friendly. Matt Larson and his assistants are amazing. They make the experience more pleasant than I could imagine. He is very professional and very skilled. All of my family have changed to Matt including my son who lives in Herriman! I hope he will continue being my dentist forever :-)
