Dr. Matthew Healey grew up on the South Shore, where he developed an early interest in dentistry. After he graduated from Duxbury High School, he attained his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry at Stonehill College near Boston. He then went on to earn his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry degree from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Healey completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This post-graduate work expanded Dr. Healeys knowledge and skills in various dental specialties.
As part of his efforts to continue providing excellent and comfortable dental care, Dr. Healey has added oral conscious sedation to his practice. This option is especially beneficial for patients who feel anxious or fearful about dental treatment. Dr. Healey obtained his sedation training at the Montefiore Medical Center, where he completed a hospital-based clinical program that is part of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Healey has also studied with the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS). All this continuing education has helped Dr. Healey transform the experience of going to the dentist. Visits at his office are safe and relaxing, and all patients are treated with respect while they get the smile they deserve.
Dr. Healey has achieved Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), followed by Mastership in the Academy (MAGD). His other professional memberships include the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Massachusetts Dental Society.
Therese joined our team in July of 2015 and brings over 20 years experience as a registered dental hygienist. Therese enjoys meeting new patients and forging relationships with them, educating patients about dental health, and helping patients with their dental needs. She prides herself in her gentle touch. She graduated from Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester with a degree in dental hygiene and maintains advanced training through continuing education. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, reading, and spending time with her husband and three grown children.
Kathie has been a registered dental hygienist for 30 years. She has a degree in dental hygiene from Middlesex as well as a certification to administer local anesthesia from Mt. Ida College. Kathies passion for dental health is evident in her professionalism, clinical expertise, and compassion with her patients, many of whom have developed long-term relationships with her. Kathie enjoys reading, Van Morrison concerts in Belfast, traveling, gardening, and snow!
Deb graduated from Middlesex Community College with an associates degree in science along with certification in dental assisting. Debs primary responsibility at Dr. Healeys is to work with him chairside during your treatment. She brings compassion and comfort to all their patients. Whether you need a smile or a hand to hold, Deb will always be there for you. Deb enjoys going to the beach, kayaking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
A native of Billerica, Michelle graduated from Shawsheen Valley Technical High School and received her dental training at Bryman Institute. Michelle strives to build relationships with her patients and finds their trust very important and rewarding. Going to work every day is a new experience and another opportunity to ensure her patients feel comfortable and leave happy. When not assisting Dr. Healey, you can find Michelle at the front desk or in the lab. In her spare time, Michelle likes to cook, travel, and spend time with her husband and two daughters.

We are an insurance-friendly practice and work with your provider to submit your claims and maximize your benefits. I love coming here, I've been a patient here since I moved to this town in 2007, and they treat you like family here! In the last few days, I have been there twice and I must say Ilva and Mildred were just a joy to be talking to and Dr. Healey is amazing as well! Thanks for the many years!

Have never been more happy with my cleaning in 53 years as I have been today. Awesome experience from the minute you walk into the door until you meet Dr Healey. I live in Hudson NH and it is definitely worth the drive to Billerica.

It's been longer than I want to reveal since I've seen a dentist. I went to see Doctor Healey today with severe anxiety. His staff is the sweetest most caring people that I've ever met. My anxiety was soon lifted. I underwent x-rays and a complete explanation of the work that I need, along with an explanation of the cost breakdown. I am happy to say that I have made an appointment to get all of this taken care of in one appointment under oral sedation. I can't wait! Thank you Doctor Healey and your wonderful staff.

Dr. Healey has been my dentist for at least 10 years! He is caring, careful, thorough, empathetic, smart, talented, and funny. The office has clean new tech, tvs in rooms, and the staff is always pleasant! My teeth and mouth have been in great shape, they do a good job. Skilled techniques with numbing which I appreciate. I recommend everyone here!

Dr. Healey spent alot of time reviewing everything and going over everything with me which made me alot more comfortable than most places I have been too. He was very nice and caring and I am actually looking forward to getting some much needed work done with him.

I am giving this review my honest opinion. I have been a patient of Dr. Matthew Healey (Billerica) for a few years now. I had to endure intensive dental care. I need to express to everyone who reads this, that this Doctor of dental medicine is the one you must go to. He took care of all my needs, but more so understood the pain, the mental anxiety I was going thru having everything done. There is no other dentist I could ever recommend that would meet the goals this dentist has helped me reach. He saw me at my worse and gave me my best, and I could not be prouder to smile. His staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Sure, everyone has pain with a dentist, but he undersold and took that pain quickly from me so I could be comfortable at all lengths. The staff and team all greet you with a warm hello, a smile and kindness when you arrive. I will be the first to admit I was afraid on my first visit, but the staff and team took that fear and I understood me. I have never had that fear again when I walked thru those doors. I knew it was going to be a long road to get to where I wanted to be, but I could not have done it without going to Dr. Healey. I now have family seeing him because I am that confident in his care. He understands, he has compassion, and he listens to his patient's needs. Now that most of my work is done, I won't be there as often. Not many people can say they will miss their dentist, but I can, and I will say it. I am going to miss Dr. Healey and his awesome staff and dental team.

Dr. Healey has been my dentist for about 2 years now. Prior to my first visit with Dr. Healey I had already had several bad experiences with dentist. When I entered into his office for my first visit nearly 2 years ago my anxiety was high and his staff was very welcoming and made me feel as comfortable as possible during my first visit. Since then I have had alot of work done knowing that I am in good hands with someone who is compassionate and definitely cares about the level of comfort while having dental work done. Dr. Healey is definitely a dentist that I would recommend if you have dental fears or anxiety.

Dr Healey is a wonderful, kind and gentle dentist. He helped me out when I was in trouble with my teeth. His dental Hygienist was excellent! I had not had a cleaning in quite a while. I endured my first root canal amidst a pandemic with Dr. Healey & co. and I never thought it could be such a delightful experience. He and his associates are exceptional- highly skilled, very gentle, the office is clean, and everyone is professional and super friendly. I highly recommend Dr. Healey, particularly to those who are anxious around dental care.

I highly recommend this caring dentistry practice! This dentist's office has individual patient rooms (unlike some chain dentists where walls are halfway and you can hear every dental procedure and conversation) and kind personnel--from the front desk to the hygienists to the dentist himself.
