Dr. Matt Glasgow graduated from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1987. Prior to studying at MCV Dental School, he attended high school in Rome and Naples, Italy, and Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia on an NCAA athletic scholarship inswimming, achieving several Virginia State Collegiate Champion awards in 200 Fly, 400 IM, and 1000 Free. Dr. Matt has enjoyed settling in the beautiful college town environment shared with Virginia Tech, currently in private practice in downtown Blacksburg for 31 years. He is an active and accredited member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Southwest Virginia for Advanced Studies. He has obtained advanced training and certification inCosmetic Dentistry, Laser Dentistry,Invisalign Preferred Provider, andDentalImplants.
Dr. Glasgow's passion for dentistry continues to consume his desire to provide the very best, most comprehensive dental care to his patients, using the best materials and technology available in a modern yet relaxed environment. He enjoys cosmetic dentistry and minimally invasive dentistry. His state-of-the-art dental facility spares nothing in the modern technologies available in dentistry today.
Dr. Matt is happily married to Xiaoli, who is a doctor specializing in cancer research with Merck. They both enjoy long walks about town and on the Huckleberry Trail, hiking and bicycling on the trails in the NRV, lap swimming, helping Xiaoli with gardening to maintain spectacular flower beds and landscaping, and travelling abroad. He thanks God daily for all his success!

Today's visit to the Cosmetic Smile Center was most pleasant. As a long-term and most grateful patient of Dr. Glasgow's I will miss Dr. G as he turns the pages to his much deserved retirement. Thanks for the wonderful professional care and your friendship, Matt, and enjoy the next phase. Kudos also to the remaining terrific clinical and administrative staff. My family and I have been going to Dr. Glasgow for many years now and love the care we have received. We have always had positive experiences with absolutely everyone that works there. The front office staff is about the nicest I have ever experienced. They are genuinely the sweetest people on the planet! I also appreciate that they make a point to make each of us feel like we not only welcomed, but appreciated. While I know they have plenty of patients to keep track of, they make each of us feel like we absolutely matter to them. That is someone special in today's world! A special shout out to Kippen who might be the nicest person on the planet!! My husband, 3 kids, and myself get our biannual cleanings and have seen all of their hygienists. I love mine :). I have been going to Susan for years and she is so friendly and thorough with my cleanings. In full disclosure, I am not a fan of going to the dentist so for me to say I enjoy my visits with her shows her level of patience and understanding. She's awesome! Hands down, an awesome practice!

Dr. Glasgow is conservative and careful and has an A-team office staff. They go above and beyond to work with each patient and are a favorite with my children and I. My children have grown up with Lori cleaning their teeth and Kippin at front desk and I'm grateful and impressed at the lack of turnover in the office staff. Always a good sign and I would highly recommend the whole team. I recently had a crown done and was thankful for both Dr Glasgow and Connie's patience as it took several attempts to get my jaw numb before he could work. They were both committed to me having a good experience and I was grateful for their kindness and attention to my comfort. They were not rushed even though I knew it was taking them longer than they probably had time for. Big thumbs up for their great work!
