Dr. Bostian completed an advanced residency at the Bronx VA hospital in NYC, where he specialized in treating veterans with severe anxiety and PTSD. His gentle, reassuring nature puts even the most nervous patients at ease.
Dr. Bostian is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the North Carolina Dental Society. A self-professed dental nerd and lifelong learner, Dr. Bostian is pursuing a fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and completes over 75 hours of continuing education coursework each year.
Olivia, also know as Liv, moved from South Carolina to the Triangle in 2016. She spent a year in New Hampshire, but missed her family and friends back home. In her spare time she enjoys watercolor painting and crafting, and relaxing by the Eno River with a good book.
Originally from Wilmington, Karen is a hygienist of many talents (shes a gardener and former speed skater!) Karen and her husband are proud parents to their daughter, Caroline, and their fur baby, a lovable Newfoundland named Minnie.
Lisa has worked in dentistry for over thirty years. Shes a natural caregiver and loves helping her patients achieve beautiful and healthy smiles. She adores spending time with family, and snuggling up with her pup and a good book.

As a new patient I was immediately impressed by the professional, patient centered attitude of this office. The care I received was excellent. Dr. Bostian had an unhurried manner I appreciated and took time to listen to me and to hear my concerns. This was a first. Dr Matthew Bostian is an Excellent Dentist !. I always leave the office feeling great , well taken care of. His exams are gentle but very thorough and he takes as much time as necessary to listen very carefully to my concerns . He also seems genuinely happy to just chat and or catch up on the latest in our personal lives. Basically, Dr Bostian is a super nice very friendly PROFESSIONAL dentist so If you are looking for a of good dentist , then i can honestly give him the highest rating possible of 5 well deserved stars. And best of all his support staff are all OUTSTANDING Fantastic People Too who deserve 10 stars as they have always taken great care of ME for many years long before Matthew took over the the practice from Dr's Sid & Marcella Sockwell. Nobody could top that husband & wife team ( now retired ) although Matthew is holding his on pretty good thus far. BTW: I drive 175 miles one way just to come to this practice in Chapel Hill, NC and although it's a long haul I believe excellent medical care, peace of mind, and a painless experience is worth the trip. Everyone on staff is warm, inviting, and professional. Dr Bostian is incredibly thorough in his work and explanations of needed care. Dr Bostian and Olivia are excellent in providing treatment in a gentle manner that doesn't create anxiety, but promotes a feeling of calmness. Karen is an excellent hygienist, the best I've ever had. If dental issues/questions arise, there is a prompt response from this dental practice. I am incredibly thankful to be in their care. Dr Bostian has a cohesive confident team of health professionals to meet your dental needs.

Never thought I would actually look forward to go to the dentist! Not only is Dr. Bostian and staff knowledgeable, they make me so comfortable I actually take a nap when I am on the chair...seriously! I am very pleased with what I have gotten done so far and would definitely recommend.

Throughout the pandemic I have felt safe coming to Dr. Bostian's office for semi-annual cleanings / preventative care and for a crown. He and his staff are wonderful.

I have been with the practice since 2012 (though the retirement of three dentists). The hygienist, Karen has been on staff from the beginning of my time there and does a fantastic and thorough job. Dr. Bostian has been a great fit in taking over the reins from the Sockwells. He is knowledgeable and caring. I look forward to bringing my 2 year old daughter next year for her first ever visit, because I know they will do an excellent job with her.

My daughter referred me to Dr. Bostian. I don't like dental appointments, at all. So far, my visits to the office have been pleasant. One weekend, I had a crown that cracked. It was put in by another dentist, in another state. I called Dr. Bostian terrified that I would be in pain. He told me what to do, since I was not in pain. Monday AM, I got a call in the 8:00 hour to schedule an appointment for that day. I still don't like going, but I have to. They're very accommodating and I appreciate them all.
