Dr. Butzirus grew up in central Illinois and graduated dental school from Southern Illinois University. He is passionate about his work in the dental field and is well-known for his personalized approach to dental care. Developing strong relationships with all his patients allows Dr. Butzirus to create comprehensive treatment plans that properly address dental concerns and improve overall health.
In his free time, Dr. Butzirus enjoys spending time with his fianc, Katye, and their two dogs, Lucy and Copa. Katye and Dr. Butzirus will be getting married in October 2021. Some of Dr. Butzirus's favorite hobbies include fitness, cooking, fishing, reading, and woodworking.

Absolutely LOVED my experience at the dentist today! Dr. Matlock was warm, respectful, an excellent listener and can give a fabulous and spot on numbing shot! My sister has been my dentist for years and I have recently moved to KCMO! Dr Matlock and Matlock's team came highly recommended by a neighbor... fabulous recommendation! I laughed multiple times throughout my tooth extraction today! Awesome experience!

Been my dentist almost 10 years. Was a little remiss in yearly check-ups but even in the 4 year lapse he still took great care and it was as if I hadn't been absent. Staff is always wonderful.

A few weeks later the crown procedure was done. When leaving, I was told I owe $1050.00, this was in consideration of all services. Jennifer was not in that day and at the time I was not offered a cost breakdown. I contacted Jennifer the following Monday and I was told the amount I was being billed for is higher than what I was told while in the dentist chair, and at a cost above the $1,250 I was quoted. After further discussion, she did allow the reduced cost but insisted that I pay the separate charge. I agreed to pay her the amount she requested. Now two weeks later I received another bill for $426 as the insurance company did not pick up all the charges as expected, after I was told the typical coverage is 60%. It turned out to be considerably less as the insurance company has a fee schedule which is typical for preferred dental facilities, this was not explained to me by Jennifer. My cost for a crown procedure is now considerably more out of pocket than I initially thought, was not advised of the fee schedule, and after being advised the cost, I was quoted while in the dentist chair I was charged an additional $170, and after I was told the cost is included in the price of the crown as this is their procedure prior to installing the crown anyway. My final bill is now $1,420 and my out of pocket is $1,100.00. Lastly, I get regular checkups since I moved frequently with work, and have used several dental services, I've never been more suspicious and untrusting of a person than Jennifer. In other situations, if there was a denial of services or limited coverage, dentists would work with a patient with payment arrangements if needed and a reduced cost since the insurance charge is typically higher than a customer direct pay. I wasn't offered either, so be very aware, if you use this fine staff of dentists, get the cost in writing first. Because of this series of errors, they lost TWO customers today, my wife included. I sent this through their website four days ago without an answer. I am pleased to say that Mandi took care of my billing issues and the arrangements made were agreeable to both parties. Thank you Matlock Dental Care for your attention and outstanding customer service representatives.

Thanks to everyone at Matlock Dental Care from the front door greetings to my dental care. Everyone is professional and friendly. I look forward to going back. The visit was good. Someone needs to remind the receptionist that my insurance doesn't have a co-pay. You bill the insurance company then I pay my balance.

Dr Matlock no longer accepts United Concordia dental insurance because, as Jennifer (who works in his insurance office) told me, the United Concordia reimbursements are too low. My husband and I served in the Air Force for a combined 51 years. Dr. Matlock doesn't care. He's all about the money. Thanks for nothing, Dr. Matlock!!

I have been going to Dr Matlock for over twenty years, and I can't imagine having anyone else as a dentist. Not only is he an excellent and professional dentist, his office uses all the latest equipment and dental procedures. The entire office staff, including the dental hygienists and administrative personnel, makes for a great experience. I can't recommend any dentist higher than Dr Matlock.
