Dr. Bilu Mathews goals are to build lifetime relationships with his patients, and help them create and maintain healthy, beautiful smiles. His ability to listen, and commitment to care for people are qualities instilled in him throughout his upbringing.
Dr. Bilu Mathew is originally from Floral Park, New York. He attended Binghamton University to receive his Bachelors Degree in Biology. He then went on to the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine to receive his DDS Degree. He received an award from the Pierre Fauchard Academy to recognize his achievements in Dentistry and Service. He also received an award from the Academy of Operative Dentistry for outstanding achievements in Operative Dentistry. Another award he received was from the AACD (American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry) for which he accomplished the BEST cosmetic result for his patient as compared to other excellent results achieved by his peers.
Dr. Bilu Mathew decided to pursue his General Practice Residency at the prestigious North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. (Currently part of the the Northwell Health System). During his residency, he was able to hone his skills to be able to deliver all modalities of dental treatment. He is highly skilled in Root Canal Therapy, Cosmetic Dentistry, Advanced Crown and Bridge work, Soft Tissue Management and Periodontal Therapy, as well as Orthodontic treatment. He was hand picked by the Residency Director and adjunct faculty to complete a 2 year Fellowship in the Surgical Placement of Dental Implants and Advanced Prosthetics. Over those two years, he learned advanced surgical skills in dental implant placement, Sinus grafting and augmentation, Dental ridge and socket preservation, in addition to designing advanced prosthetics that are implant supported.
During his residency, him and his wife Dr. Julie Mathew completed mission work in Ghana, Africa to provide dental services to the indigenous and underserved people in the community there. He was able to serve, talk, sing and dance with the people there. This was one of the most life changing experiences in his life. He realized that serving people and caring for their health was truly what he enjoyed in life the most.
Dr. Bilu Mathew and Dr Julie Mathew decided to go into private practice together and formed Mathew Dental Group in 2007. Dr. Bilu Mathew is passionate about providing the highest quality of dental care. He understands the importance of staying on the cutting edge of dental technology to improve and perfect results for his patients. Even after all his extensive study, Dr. Mathew is always attending continuing education to provide his patients the very best dentistry has to offer.
Dr. Julie Mathew received her dental degree, Doctor of Dental Surgery, from SUNY at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine, with a minor in oral diagnostic science. She decided to become a dentist after working for a female oral surgeon and interning for a female general dentist during her college years at SUNY at Binghamton. After dental school, she completed her residency at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, NY. From 2003 to 2012, Dr. Mathew work as an associate in several practices on Long Island. In 2007, Dr. Mathew opened Mathew Dental Group with her husband, Dr. Bilu Mathew. As a husband and wife team, it was important for them to treat all their patients like family, providing comprehensive, gentle and quality treatment with a conservative approach.
Dr. Julie Mathew loves meeting people and getting to know each patient. She is compassionate about helping others and giving people a reason to smile. She has completed mission trips to Ghana, Africa and Dominican Republic where extractions and placement of implants were completed to those less fortunate. She is a member of Academy of General Dentistry, a fellow of International Dental Implant Association, a silver tier provider of Invisalign, a member of Dawson Study Club and an alumni of the prestigious Dawson Academy.
Dr. Julie Mathew is not only proud to have Dr. Bilu Mathew as her dental practice partner for over 12 years, but also her husband for 16 years. They reside in Smithstown with their two beautiful daughters. When she is not in the office, she is trying new recipes of the kitchen, laughing with family and friends and travelling.
Dr. Bilu Mathew is a graduate of Rondeau Seminars where he learned Straight Wire Orthodontics. He is a graduate of Implant Seminars which a very rigorous continuum in Advanced Dental Implant Surgery and Bony Ridge Augmentation. He was mentored by Dr. Arun Garg who is a world renowned speaker, innovator and educator. Through Implant Seminars, Dr. Bilu Mathew became a Diplomate of the International Dental Implant Association. Dr. Bilu Mathew is also a member of an elite group of dentists that graduated from the prestigious Dawson Academy. Through this Academy, Dr. Mathew learned systems that will guarantee predictability, longevity and beauty in the dentistry provided to all his patients. Dr. Bilu Mathew is a graduate of the Pinhole Academy where he was directly trained by Dr. John Chao who is the inventor of the Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST). PST is a scalpel-free, suture-free procedure to correct gum recession that can lead to early tooth loss and severe cosmetic problems. He is one of only a few dentists approved to provide this service for patients who severely suffer from gum recession and sensitivity.

This is by far the best dental group you will encounter! Extremely genuine in caring, taking extra time to make sure you are comfortable, understand the treatment plan, and works at the patients pace! I am dental phobic, and avoid the dentist at all costs! Well, I won the lotto with this dentist! The office is sparkling clean, the staff (all the staff) are friendly and caring! One more major thing I must add in this review..... the Dentist herself (Dr. Julie) called me on a Sunday - the day before my treatment- to assure me that all would be fine, to remind me of how to take the prescribed medication and just to let me know not to be nervous. *Now a days, that's unheard of* it meant the world to me to know the Doctor on her day off, on her own time was concerned and caring for me. In short, don't hesitate meeting this teem, you will be so happy you did! Thank you Dr. Julie

I can not say enough great things about this family owned practice! Dr Julie and her Husband and warm and welcoming along with there entire staff. I was lucky enough to be introduced to them when I followed my Hygienist of 13 years from her old practice to this one. To start they give you a thorough consultation to discuss the health of your smile and gums. I have never had this done and it was very helpful for my family. They were also amazing with my children who are 12 and 14 as well as my elderly parents that had not been to the Dentist in years. They are kind compassionate people that personally I feel are one of the best. Everyone from the Dr Julie, her Husband and the entire staff is amazing! If you are looking for a small intimate practice with a personal touch then Mathew Dental is the place to be!

Both Drs. Julie and Bilu are kind and compassionate. The staff is as well. I've had an implant, crowns, teeth whitening, and now invisalign done in their office. I wouldn't go anywhere else for dental care.

I went in for my first visit today with Mathew Dental. I have a lot of dental problems, due to my own neglect. Diana and Natalie were extremely sweet and made me feel very comfortable. The ladies doing front desk were also very caring. Dr Mathew took his time explaining the next steps in my treatment with patience and bedside manner I have not seen in any sort of medical/dental facility that it took me by surprise. I am hopeful that this practice will help me towards a healthier smile!!

Amazing!! I recently just had my last visit for teeth whitening and I couldn't be happier. My teeth have bothered me the last few years because i noticed they were yellowing and I didn't even want to smile. There were other alternative whitening products I had heard of, however I wanted something that was done right and lasted. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Julie Mathew and she recommended I go with the Kor Ulta-T whitening package. She was extremely professional and made the process a breeze. From the informative consultation when I first walked in to the very last day she payed attention to every detail, even giving a call here and there to get an update on how it was going. Besides the fact that her and the whole staff there were extremely welcoming and professional, the results surpassed anything I had expected. Even after the first two weeks my friends and family had noticed. After the whole process my teeth were unrecognizable from the first day. They were completely white and instead of not wanting to show my teeth like before, I wanted to smile every chance I got. Overall, it was a great experience working with every person there. They are so nice and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get their teeth whitened the right way.

My experience at Mathew Dental Group was exceptional. With my dental issues, I had approached multiple dentists in the past. Everyone would give up on me as my case was very complicated. It was very upsetting for me thinking that I cannot even smile openly. I found Mathew Dental Group through browsing the internet. The first time I met Dr Bilu Mathew , I expressed my concerns to him. Where no one wanted to even attempt my dental issues, Dr Bilu said he will help me out and placed in front of me the vision he had for me to give a good smile. The only request he had from me was to be patient as it will take time to address all my issues. In my experience, Dr Bilu is a very pleasant, positive, hardworking, vision oriented dentist. He dealt with me as if I'm his own family member. He is very skillful, smart, honest and a perfectionist. The staff at Mathew Dental Group is very pleasant and professional. I went to Dr. Mathews disheartened after a bad experience at another dentist. She was empathetic and kind. She surprised me by her assessment of my dental problems. Dr. Mathews said I could keep my remaining teeth!!!! I had just went through 9 extractions with more to come from my prior dentist. I wish I had gone to Mathews dental group first! Dr Blue Mathews, as he is affectionately called, was my surgeon. He too was so kind. He fitted me with permanent post and I now have my smile back!!! They look natural and like my very own. I cannot say more about this dynamic duo. They saved my remaining teeth and gave me back my smile!!! Thank you so much for making me confident again!!! I wish I could put a picture on this review. You would not believe how beautiful their work is.

Very professional needed an implant Dr.Mathews explained in detail the whole process. He did an excellent job and I didn't feel a thing during the surgery. The tooth is solid looks and feels real. I am 100 % satisfied will be getting more work done. He cares about his patients and his work.

My family has been patients of Mathew Dental for several years. I absolutely hate going to the dentist but have told Dr. Julie Mathew she makes it impossible to hate her. She is the most kind and compassionate person, not just dentist, you could ever wish to meet. After neglecting to make appointments I found myself in a terrible postion of needing to ask for help. Without judgement she helped me at a time when I desperately needed it and I will forever be eternally grateful for her humanity, kindness and professionalism.

Someone recommended the Mathew Dental Group to my mother, and she can't stop raving about their services. My mother is in her 70's, and she has had many issues with her teeth over the years. Therefore, she tends to be more apprehensive when it comes to doctors. Other dentists were hesitant to work on my mother's teeth. Dr. Mathew put in new crowns and 6 implants, and my mother is so happy with the final results. Dr. Mathew did a great job with minimal pain. Everything feels very natural. English is not her first language, but Dr. Mathew was always very patient explaining all procedures and methods. My mother highly recommends the Mathew Dental Group. Both husband and wife have been very kind to my mother, and she loves the work they've done on her teeth.
