Dental School followed (1994-1998) at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry in Oklahoma City. While there, Dr. Matheson received graduation honors and awards for research in radiology and for outstanding performance in (pediatric) dentistry. He also completed extra course work in implant dentistry, hospital rotations in pediatric dentistry and oral surgery and an externship with an accomplished general dentist in Edmond Oklahoma. He continues to improve his skills and advance his education. He is board certified with the Western Regional Examining Board.
Since graduation from dental school in 1998, Dr. Matheson has worked full time as a general dentist. Currently he works in his own office in Salt Lake City - Matheson Dental Associates. He thoroughly enjoys the practice of dentistry. He believes that every patient deserves to be treated in a gentle, friendly manner in a clean, professional environment and works very hard to see that this is accomplished.
Dr. Matheson grew up right here in Salt Lake City. He has 5 children, 2 daughters-in-law,1 son-in-law, 11 darling grandbabies! He loves Skiing, playing basketball and boating at Lake Powell and nearby lakes. Dr. Matheson plays the trumpet in the 'Not So Big Band' in his spare time.
Holly also grew up here in Salt Lake City and happens to be married to Dr. Matheson. They're going on 38 years! Holly has been working with insurance for almost 22 years now. She enjoys time spent with her family, doing pottery and taking care of her many chickens and her dog Sadie.
Sarah - Special Projects Sarah has worked at the front desk for the many years and still fills in on occasion. Currently, she is working on helping Holly with insurance projects, special projects around the office and organizational tasks.
Amy - Dental AssistantAmy has been with Matheson Dental for many years and we don't know what we would do without her. She is currently studying and getting ready to start Dental Hygiene School. Make sure you take a chance to get to know her at your next visit!
Teresa joined our team 18 months ago and we are so excited to have her with us. Teresa actually worked with Dr. Matheson years ago when he first started his practice. She is married and has a wonderful family that keeps her very busy.

Great Dentist, Dr. Matheson does a good job and takes his time. Had Tereasa as my hygienist today and was very pleased with her ability and overall cleaning etc. Been coming here for 10+ years and very pleased with the office. Thank you guys. -Brandon

I come to Dr. Matheson with my husband and my 4 children. He has helped us through a toddler with a broken off front tooth, annual exams, and my 2nd grader getting a cavity filled. He is so cheerful and fun, the waiting room is clean and calm, and his assistants are so capable and caring. I have had Dr. Matheson work on a front tooth to do some internal bleaching and he wouldn't say the process was complete until the color was perfect. I really appreciated that. So glad to have him as our dentist.

Everyone is super friendly and kind and he's been a great dentist to my 10 year old so far. Definitely no extortion with this guy! (Sometimes I've felt extorted by dentists).

I have had extensive dental work, including a bridge, implants, crowns, root canals, bonding etc. If I had to describe Dr. Matheson with one word it would be "perfectionist". Some of my caps pinched and caught food so badly I could hardly eat meat. Dr. Matheson's caps are comfortable, no pinching or catching food, and they are easy to floss. The bonding he did on my front tooth is exactly how my real tooth looked before it broke. He is very gentle and his workmanship is beyond anything I've experienced before. He explains everything and he only works on one patient at a time and I rarely have to wait over 5 minutes. He is by far the most competent DDS I have been too, and I have been to many.
