Dr. Scott Mateer completed his undergraduate studies at Marist College, with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. He attended Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated at the top of his class. Upon completion of his dental degree he then attended Montefiore Medical Center where he received his specialty certificate in Orthodontics. Here he underwent extensive training in Orthodontics on patients of all ages using the most state of the art techniques.
Dr. Mateer prides himself on providing a caring and honest approach to orthodontic treatment for his patients. He believes in building long-term, meaningful relationships that translate to better oral health for life. Continuing his compassionate approach to dentistry, Dr. Mateer has also volunteered his time on dental missions to serve underprivileged patients. The most recent of which was in Madagascar, Africa.
Dr. Mateer is a member of the American Academy of Orthodontics and the American Dental Association. In his spare time Dr. Mateer enjoys exercise, sports, traveling and spending time with his wife Kristin, their two sons Tyler and Dylan and their two dogs, Spike and Milo.

Dr Mateer and his staff run such an amazing practice. Knowledgeable, state of the art, fun and fast! We are on our second round of orthodontic work in our family- our first daughter has a beautiful smile after Dr Mateer and our second daughter just started her journey. I wouldn't choose anyone other practice!!

I highly recommend Dr. Mateer. Dr. Mateer is caring, knowledgeable and takes the time to get to know his patients and their needs. The office staff is both professional and accommodating. He truly cares about patient experience. Hands down Dr. Mateer and his staff are the best around.

Dr. Mateer and his staff are the best! They are extremely thorough and never make us feel rushed. He takes the time to see every patient and even during COVID has called several times for follow ups since patients are seen without us! We love Dr Mateer and his staff!

Dr. Mateer and his staff are incredible. So wonderful that after contemplating for years, I decided to get braces myself. Not only are they always on time, thorough, and knowledgeable, but they make going their office so FUN. I remember going to an orthodontist as a child and it was horrible. My kids (and I) look forward to going to our appointments. Our teeth have never looked better and we highly recommend this office. Thank you Dr. Mateer and staff! You guys rock!
