Dr. Laurence Masuoka received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1983 from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine, where he served as Student Body President. He had completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California. After six years and a promotion to Major the U. S. Air Force Dental Corps, Dr. Masuoka started his private practice in Fair Oaks in 1989. He was awarded Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry and now practices dentistry jointly with his sister, Dr. Marleen M. Masuoka.
Dr. Masuoka and his familyreside in Fair Oaks. He is very active in community affairs. He has served in leadership positions for the Fair Oaks Community Planning Advisory Council, the Fair Oaks Recreation and Parks District, and the Fair Oaks Elementary School PTA. He is also a U.C. Master Gardener, and a past Trustee for the San Juan School District.
Dr. Marleen Masuoka studied dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1993. She had previously received bachelors degrees from the University of California, Davis, and the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Masuoka has continued her dental education completing a Comprehensive Program in Esthetic Dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco. She has completed studies in Dental Sleep Medicine, which includes treatment for snoring and sleep apnea. She is certified in the use of hard and soft tissue lasers and has completed an Associate Fellowship with the World Clinical Laser Institute. Dr. Masuoka also leads a Spear Education Study Group with local general dentists and specialists, focusing on comprehensive patient treatment planning.
Dr. Kaitlyn Zech received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. While completing her four years in LA, she founded a Rotaract club and acted as director of a humanitarian outreach program in order to provide community dental care for low income children and their families on local and international levels. Upon graduation, she received an award from the Academy of Osseointegration in implant dentistry. Prior to joining private practice, Dr. Zech completed a one year residency with the VA in Sacramento focusing in dental care for medically compromised patients. During that time, she trained one-on-one with dental specialists in periodontology, oral surgery, and endodontics. Her training included weekly dental lectures and the opportunity to treat complex cases. Dr. Zech is thrilled to join such a wonderful team and continue to practice in an environment that considers the whole person. In line with the practice philosophy, Dr. Zech appreciates the person behind the smile.
Prior to moving to California, Dr. Zech lived and studied in Montana and Washington states. Raised in the Pacific Northwest, she loves the outdoors, recreational activities, and has a great appreciation for the arts. Dr. Zech is a certified scuba diver and enjoys pickup soccer games.
Our Registered Dental Hygienists provide ongoing periodontal care and education with the goal of maintaining excellent periodontal health for each and every patient. They provide an individualized home care plan to fit each patients particular needs and make recommendations for selecting home care products.
