Countless times, I have treated someone who was too embarrassed to even crack a smile at their initial visit but are unable to contain their grin after undergoing orthodontic treatment. I am proud that I am able to make a real and positive difference in the lives of our patients. Not only do we help patients to improve their appearance, we decrease the chances that our patients will have problems with their teeth, gums, or jaws as they age. In this respect, orthodontics truly is a scientific as well as an artistic endeavor.
I attend many orthodontic specialty meetings and continuing education courses. These venues allow me to keep up on the latest techniques and trends so that I am able to provide my patients with the most up-to-date treatment modalities possible. In addition, my affiliation with local study clubs allows the exchange of ideas between general dentists and specialists in the suburban Maryland area.
I have lived in Annapolis, Maryland for many yearsand I have made a lovely home here with my wife, Debbie, our kids, Jacob and Jessica. I am an avid fisherman and boater. I enjoy going to the beach and listening to music. I also love spending time with my family.
I am proud thatmy office is constantly participating in charity events, such as food drives for a local food bank, visiting a local hospice around the holidays, and participating in various walks for charity such as the Komen Breast Cancer three day (60 mile) walk!

Janet has been with our office since 1983 and has worn many hats throughout the years. She began her career as an orthodontic technician and really enjoyed interacting with patients and helping create beautiful smiles. Although she maintains her certifications, she has transitioned to the business side of the office. She handles the accounts receivable and accounts payable, as well as, the insurance coordination. In addition, she is our human resource manager and ensures that the office remains OSHA compliant.
Outside the office Kim cherishes spending time with her husband and two daughters.She also enjoys spending as much time as possible outside, whether its in the neighborhood, camping, or going to the beach!
One of the newest members of our team, Nellly helps patients get started with their braces, changes their wires, and helps them choose the color of rubber bands to put on their brackets. A former high-school cheerleader, Nellly enjoys being in motion and keeping busyboth of which she does at our office!

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

I was referred here by a friend. I knew the doctor would be good but I was not prepared for what I experienced in the office. I was completely blown away! From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out I experienced 5 star customer service. The office was clean and inviting. I accidentally came an hour early thinking my appointment was at a different time and I was taking back almost immediately I barely waited five minutes. I had a prior bad experience with a dentist and it was so refreshing to see a dentist be so professional and so on point with his work! It's an hour trip from my home but it is definitely worth the trip. I am happy to say that I have found my orthodontist!!! Come to Maryland advance orthodontist and I promise that you will not regret it!

I have my 2 girls come to this office for treatment and have never had any problems. If I need to come in for emergency, they will make accommodation and always attentive to all calls. Highly recommended if anyone need orthodontist services.

Dr. Lavine is truly one of the best. I went to another orthodontic practice in the area first and they were not at all competent or clean. Dr. Lavine's practice is clean, friendly, and helpful. I highly recommend this practice! And bonus points for taking insurance!

We have been very pleased with Dr. Lavine and his staff. He explains everything clearly and has great bedside manner. Our daughter had nice results with Invisalign. The office has convenient hours and is open late, so I found that very helpful when scheduling. The office is clean and well-managed with polite and professional staff. They remind you of appointments in advance and closer to your actual appointment date.

At 22 years old I finally came to a full realization of just how thankful & grateful I am for Dr.Lavine and his team. I first saw Dr.Lavine when I was around the age of 8 years old, up until I was 14. I have had pretty much every dental procedure you can imagine growing up, and I am sure I was one of his most challenging "projects" he had to work on. However, without Dr.Lavine, my smile and confidence would have never been possible! Words cant express how awesome this orthodontic practice is, and to this day my parents and I will continue to recommend it! Now I just want to say thank you so much Dr.Lavine!

I was referred to Dr. Lavine by my regular dentist. I never had braces as a child or teen and wasn't sure what to expect but Dr. Lavine and his team were knowledgeable, patient, and thorough as well as some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure and privilege of meeting. The one thing Dr. Lavine reiterated over and over was that treatment was only done when I was satisfied. They have flexible hours which, for busy parents, is a life saver. I absolutely recommend them!

Dr. Lavine is very professional and patient. He makes sure you are satisfied with the treatment no matter how long it takes. They are also very accommodating. I moved out of the area for the later part of the treatment and he and the team have worked with me to make sure the treatment can continue as smoothly as possible. Highly recommend!

My experience with Dr. Lavine and his team was fantastic! From my first consult for Invisalign, Dr. Lavine listened to my concerns and ensured I had any questions fully answered before I moved forward with the process. Everyone in the office was friendly and got me in and out of the office quickly--something greatly appreciated during Covid in particular. Also loved that they had evening hours.
