I would like to thank you for visiting my website and for your interest in reading about me. My name is Maryann M. Ghali. I grew up in a medically oriented family. My father has a Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Biochemistry and my mother has a Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Toxicology. I also have several family members that are physicians, dentists and pharmacists. Since I started High School I have always been interested in the medical field, but I have also carried with me a love for art, painting and drawing. When it was time for me to decide on the field I was going to pursue that combined both medicine and art, I decided to become a dentist. I believe that a person's smile is very important and I consider myself a medical artist that can sculpt and create beautiful smiles for people.
I went to Rutgers University, studied Biology and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree with High Honors in 1994. I continued my studies at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. During the clinical years of my studies I was honored by my professors to be included in Gamma Pi Delta, a prosthodonticshonor society, recognizing my excellent skills in performing crowns, bridges and veneers. I was also selected to complete my senior year at Plainfield Health Center, an honor given to only fifteen students in my class, where I received extensive dental training. I graduated in the top of my class in 1998. I then completed a residency program at Hackensack University Medical center where I received additional training in a hospital setting working on medically compromised patients.
In 1999, I married the love of my life, who is a pharmacist, and in 2004 we had our son, Benjamin. We think he will pursue the medical field because of his early interest in science and experiments (or may be he will be the first one in the family that breaks the trend, only time will tell).
I have been practicing dentistry for over 17 years. I waschosen as one of America's Top Dentistsfrom 2009 until 2014 consecutivelyfor Cosmetic and General Dentistryby the Consumers' Research Council of America. My love for dentistry, especially cosmetic dentistry, is enormous. But what I love most about my profession is the people I meet on a daily basis. I love hearing about their wedding plans, their children colleges, their trips and vacations, and just about everything they like to share with me.
I realize there is fear associated with dental visits. That's why my dental team and I dedicate a lot of time to ensure our patients' comfort. I keep myself updated with the most current dental advancements by attending various continuing education classes. I pride myself with providing superior oral health for my patients and the fact that I treat every patient like a member of my own family. I am proud to say that 80% of my patients are referred by other patients.

Dr. Ghali is a compassionate and experienced dentist in Emerson! She made the experience a good patient encounter. Her staff is beyond helpful, kind, and considerate of the patient's needs. Thank you for making this nerve-racking dentist visit in my head wonderful interaction. I recommend this place to anyone asking me about a dentist in Bergen County.

Always a great experience at this office. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. I appreciate the choice of text reminders for appointments/communications. The office clean and the visit is always rather quick and efficient.

I can't stress enough how wonderful the experience was at this medical practice. Dental work is never particularly fun but this office genuinely cares about their patients. Dr. Ghali and her entire staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend!

Dr. Ghali is the best. I've seen plenty of dentists over the years, and she is by far the most gentle, knowledgeable and likeable. The same goes for the entire staff. They are all friendly and helpful. For the first time in my life, I have a dentist I would recommend.

I just had a deep root cleaning with Dr. Ghali and what a pleasurable experience that was. She had a very gentle hands and didn't feel any pain at all during the process. Her receptionist, Ms. Skye, makes you fell very welcome once you step in the office. Dr. Ghali and her staff are the best!

Dr.Ghali is the absolute best! I am generally terrified of going to the dentist because of prior terrible experiences, but I can confidently say after coming to her for almost 2 years, having routine check ups in addition to work done, she is trustworthy, honest, and does a fantastic job. I've had some cavities done and have never had any issues with the them. She provides guidance to properly care for my teeth and to properly maintain my teeth based on my specific issues and I believe that has made a huge difference. Their time management is impeccable, she is always on time, and the office staff are all lovely to deal with. It's always a pleasure to see her and come into the office. For anyone who fears going to the dentist, I recommend going to Dr.Ghali, she will change your mind!

Today was my first time being seen by Dr. Ghali and she was amazing. I'm normally a nervous patient but she made me feel so comfortable. Dr. Ghali was so professional and patient with me as we discussed what need to be addressed and came up with a game plan that fit my needs. Everyone in the office was so nice and it was super clean. I definitely recommend anyone who's looking for a new dentist to try Dr. Ghali's office. They are the best.
