Dr. Maryam Mojdehi-Barnes has been delivering outstanding orthodontic care since 1999. After graduating as the Valedictorian from Valley Baptist Academy High School in Harlingen, Texas, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Texas A&M University in College Station, with Summa Cum Laude honors. She attended dental school at Baylor College of Dentistry (Texas A&M College of Dentistry) in Dallas, where she graduated Valedictorian (1st out of 97). She continued on at Baylor College of Dentistry, one of the top orthodontic residency programs in the world, to receive both a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Mojdehi-Barnes was the sole recipient of the prestigious Faculty Achievement Award and Texas Association of Orthodontists Outstanding Senior Resident Award from Baylor College of Dentistrys orthodontic program. Dr. Mojdehi-Barnes served as a part-time clinical professor at Baylor Orthodontic residency program for about 3 years. She is married to Dr. James E. Barnes, a general and cosmetic dentist, practicing in McKinney, Texas. They enjoy raising their two children and a very special Yorkshire terrier. Dr. Mojdehi-Barnes enjoys spending time with her family, painting, playing racquetball, and traveling.

Dr. Barnes is a kind and wonderful orthodontist. From the beginning she has been very upfront and honest with both me and my child. Every visit has been clear with what is going on and what next steps are. We always leave with a written doc in case I have missed something. However, the best part of Dr. Barnes is how she has connected with our son. He has loved his experience and feels so much more confident!

Dr. Barnes and Team are incredible! As an adult in my 40's I was a bit nervous about getting braces, but they made the experience smooth throughout my treatment. Great treatment plan for a severe cross-bite and I'm even getting my braces off several months early!

Dr. mojdehi-Barnes worked miracles with my sons teeth! She is a true professional who goes above and beyond to accommodate her patients. She worked with us through many extenuating circumstances. She communicated throughout the entire braces process and delivered beautiful results. The office staff is a delight to communicate with. 10 out of 10! Highly recommend!

Did braces before and after jaw surgery with Dr Barnes. She and her staff were terrific throughout the whole process. They were courteous and were able to answer whatever questions I had. Most importantly, I'm very happy with how my teeth turned out.

Several of our family members have been patients of Dr. Barnes for over ten years. The treatments are finished- and the bite and teeth are beautiful! Dr. Barnes sets high standards for her practice and strives for perfection. She wants the very best for each patient- in terms of what each patient can achieve through their treatment. I couldn't possibly give a high enough rating for Dr. Barnes and her staff. We've been patients for five years, with two children. With a 45min drive to the office and even the "accidental" (and totally inconvenient) situations that are bound to happen outside of scheduled appointments I've never regretted choosing the drive to see Dr. Barnes. Dr. Barnes is direct and always clear with the objective while also showing kindness and care of her patients. She isn't just trying to throw the braces on and be done, she truly cares about the long term health and happiness of her patient's smile. I very much appreciate her attention to detail and only wish more Dr.s we're like her.

Dr. Barnes took care of our eldest son's Orthodontics needs since he was 9. We remember what she said during his initial treatment that she wants him to be that good looking. He is 21 now & we are so glad of how her treatment contributed to the improvement of his features. Until now, she has been taking care of our younger children's smiles. We appreciate her for being accomodating, for her individualized care for our children and making sure that the best outcome are met for each of them. Both of my daughters see Dr Barnes and I highly recommend her and her office. Maryam Barnes is a perfectionist and she is well aware that your smile represents her work. If it is not 100% perfect she will continue your care until it meets her standards -- all on her dime without charging anything extra than the original agreed cost. Even if it takes an extra year of appointments because your teen wasn't wearing their rubber bands as instructed or inadequate brushing affected progress she won't remove those braces and won't charge any extra. If you want perfect teeth and a perfect smile, go see Dr Barnes!!!

I highly recommend Dr.Barnes for your orthodontic care. She took great care of my two boys, one's journey was much more complicated than the other's and she worked so diligent yet conservatively to get the best results. We love Dr. Mojdehi-Barnes!!! She is a a miracle worker! I can't say enough good things about her. We live 3 hours away and have been driving in for 4 years. She has worked very hard to get the best smile for my daughter. After consultations with the orthodontists in our hometown, my husband and I didn't agree with their plans. I did my research and found the best of the best for my daughter. It's a big decision deciding on a smile for my child's whole life, and I trusted Dr. Mojdehi-Barnes had the vision to make it happen.
