Dr. Marvel has been serving patients in Northern Nevada for the past 15 years. She was raised on a cattle ranch in northern Nevada. The Battle Mountain High School Valedictoriangraduated Summa Cum Laudefromthe University of Nevada- Las Vegas with a 4.0 GPA. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from UNLV. Dr. Marvelgraduated with high honors fromthe University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA. She was awarded the Oral Biology Award from the American Association of Oral Biologists, the Inesi Prize in Physiology, and the Dr. Leroy Cagnone Scholarship for excellence. She is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi dental honor society and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. Jamie L. Marvel, DDS has been a member of the American Dental Association for 18 years. She has also served as the Northeastern Nevada Dental Association President.
Dr. Marvel enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 young daughters. She enjoys cheering on her girls at junior rodeos and at soccer matches. She also loves horseback riding, roping, and helping on her family's 5th generation cattle ranch. Dr. Marvel is passionate aboutdentistry because she is able to utilize both her artistic and scientific talents on a daily basis. Karina was born in Mexico but came to the United States at a very young age. She was raised in the small town of Riverdale, CA. After graduating High School, she moved to Carson City in 2007. She loves Nevada!
Karina attended Milan Institute where she obtained her certificate for Dental Assistant. She has over 8 years of experience as a dental assistant, and has been working with Dr. Marvel for the last 2 years.
Karina is married to an amazing husband who is also an amazing chef! Together they have 3 handsome boys, ages 13, 6, and 1 year old. In her spare time, Karina can be found at the baseball fields, watching her boys hit home runs!
Jan is originally from Tennessee, where she worked as an LPN in a family practice office. She has been in the dental field, here in Nevada, for the past 15 years. She enjoys meeting patients and making their experience in our office a pleasant one. So thrilled to have found you Marvel !!! Filled my cavity and did a Hygiene app out in under 2 hours for all of that ...I lucked out some one cxl and I happen to b there to get my cleaning!!! Janet was great !!! Cavity didn't hurt at all (love that numbing concoction) it is good no adjustment needed and it was my very back molar which can tend to "get in the way" when u chew !! Lol thanks!!!

I suffer from pretty severe dental PTSD, Even though I receive sedation I am confident that I am a challenge for Dr. Marvel and staff. Their professionalism, empathy and kindness have seen me through two difficult procedures. I am extremely grateful. I highly recommend Dr. Marvel and her staff.

My previous dentist retired. For six years now, I've been searching for a new dentist. I think I've FINALLY found one that I like... My first visit was VERY encouraging despite the diminished condition of my teeth, especially after the pandemic closures. Jamie and her team were wonderful, taking time to explain options and the longevity of the choices available. I was impressed that she also volunteered cost saving measures that will help in the process - even using the remains of a broken bridge to save on the cost of a future crown. Now that's some good recycling! Now that I have a few visits, I see her excellent work and efficiency, and that she voluntarily takes care of things she sees that need to be done while she's at it. Now that's added value! Thank You Jamie! Going to the dentist is not something I would normally look forward to - until now!
