Dr. Martin J. Hoff attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska just as his father, Dr. John E. Hoff did before him. He graduated from Creighton Universitys School of Dentistry in 1986 and then completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at the University of Minnesota in 1990. Dr. Hoff obtained his medical degree from St. Louis University in 1993. Dr. Hoff and his family returned to the West Coast in 1993 and completed a general surgery internship at Swedish Hospital Medical Center in Seattle. He then completed a fellowship in reconstructive surgery in Utah in 1995. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Dr. Hoff returned from his post-graduate training in 1996 to establish his current practice in Redwood City.
Dr. Hoff is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, in addition to being a member of the California Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the San Mateo County Medical Society, the San Mateo County Dental Society, the California Medical Association, and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Hoff and his staff were A+ From beginning to end. They were very comforting to my needs. I had extractions and was completely put out. My recovery has been painless. I highly recommend

Did my wisdom teeth removal here. Both Dr and nurse are very nice and patient. The surgery process is smooth without too much pain.

Dr. Martin Hoff was amazing. He is funny as said before by other reviewers. My daughter had all 4 of her wisdom tooth extracted by Dr. Hoff. She did not experience any pain during and post extraction. The pain medication that he prescribed lasted all of 4 days and she did not feel a bit of pain during that time. After the fourth day she did not need any more medication. We are so relieved that she went through a big surgery and had no pain during & after the surgery. Dr. Martin Hoff is the very best.

Our 14 year old son had all 4 wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Hoff today. I work in a dental office, so I've heard really good things about Dr. Hoff from many people, so we knew our son was in good hands. The overall process was very smooth and efficient, from the consolation to the actual procedure and the after care. Everything was explained very well in advance and we felt we were very well prepared for the big day. Our son's procedure went very smoothly and he recovered very quickly with minimal discomfort. I was amazed how quickly his extraction site started healing. The school excuse note, a pack of gauze , prescriptions for pain medication, an after care instruction were all packaged in a bag for us to take home and it helped us a lot when we got home. Thank you so much Dr. Hoff and his team for your kind and thorough care for our son. We highly recommend Dr. Hoff for your oral surgery needs.

I requested an estimate from them for an implant which they refused to give over the phone even though I already sent them x-rays. Once I got there they sat me down to watch a 15 min. video full of unsolicited information I could have found online with a 30 second search. The quote came in $1,200 higher than the place I actually went, which by the way did not charge me for a quote. This price didn't include the crown either which I'm sure would have been an extra $1k. I was very surprised when I got a bill for $100 2 weeks later, for what, I'm not sure. They weren't at all transparent about this extra cost for quote which they refused to give me over the phone. Not good business...

My 11 year old son needed 5 teeth extracted. Dr. Hoff was professional yet light hearted and my son was totally at ease We had a wonderful experience, and would recommend Dr. Hoff whole heartedly. By the way, we traveled 2 hours to get to Dr. Hoff. He was well worth it to have my son have a easy experience to have 5 teeth removed!! Thank you Dr Hoff and staff, you are the best!!

Dr. Hoff and staff did a great job helping extract my four wisdom teeth, and made sure my recovery goes well without infection. He is very experienced and skillful, patient explaining situations and concepts, really caring about the patients, and has a great sense of humor too! I strongly recommend Dr. Hoff for oral procedures especially for wisdom teeth removal. My bottom wisdom teeth were both infected, and the situation is more tricky cause they were also wrapped by some nerves. He referred me to a place to do 3D scan of the teeth to make sure we get a clear picture of what the situation is like. I didn't want to listen to all the nonsense of scalpels cutting flesh and and tweezers or pliers pulling teeth during the procedure, so I asked for general anesthesia. I got in the procedure room, made some jokes with the folks and woke up with four wisdom teeth short. It's that easy! Dr. Hoff gave me some tips on how to recover faster and meds for killing pain and anti infection. I did enough icing as Dr. Hoff told, and did not have any swelling. It didn't even hurt for a couple days but got so much painful since day 3. I couldn't stand the pain even with consistently taking pain killers. I called Dr. Hoff for an emergency call, and he went back to the office on his off day to check all my files to make sure he understood what could be wrong. He told me that the tooth came out from the painful spot was buried pretty deep and ensured me it's not dry socket since it's not like painful as hell. He gave me prescriptions for stronger anti infection to make sure I get more doses. I did painkillers on schedule like clockwork, and powered through the pain after another 4-5 days. I went back for a couple of follow ups and has been doing great ever since.
