Dr. Martin H. Baker Jr. grew up in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and was exposed to dentistry from the beginning of his life. His father, grandfather, and uncle were practicing dentists. He attended Millsaps College where he completed his predental curriculum in three years. He then attended Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans and received his Doctoral of Dental Surgery. Following graduation, he pursued postdoctoral training in orthodontics and attended Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. At Georgetown, he received his Orthodontic Certification and completed a thesis earning a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics.
For more than three decades Dr. Baker has been participating in organized dentistry. He has served organized dentistry as an official representative in many positions and completing many additional certifications and accredited courses.
Dr. Baker is a member of the American Dental Association, the Mississippi Dental Association, the South Mississippi Dental Society, the Laurel Dental Society, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontics, the Mississippi Association of Orthodontics, and the American Board of Orthodontists.
Dr. Baker has also served as a trustee to the Mississippi Dental Association, President of the Third District of the Mississippi Dental Association, President of the South Mississippi Dental Society, President of the Laurel Dental Society, President of the Mississippi Association of Orthodontics, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists

Our two girls have gone to Dr Baker for about two years. Their teeth are looking great and I'm excited to final outcome. The front staff is organized, helpful and the girls say the back staff is very kind.

I Love Dr.Baker and his team, they are very nice, the atmosphere is very pleasant. I'm always seen in a timely manner. I highly recommend this place of business.

Very disappointed with the professionalism in this place. Took my stepdaughter in for a visit and just couldn't wait to get out of there! Overheard a girl that works there named Jessica talking about her personal life and let me just say I feel like I know her a little too well. Apparently, she is currently married to a very dangerous man who threatens to kill her on a regular basis, has beat her kids, etc. Just terrible! Does the work place know this? That puts patients at risk! I cannot believe that I can even add to that, but she has a married guy on the side that she has been sleeping with. She is clearly proud of the type of girl she is because she is very open about it all. I mean who does this place hire? Never in my life will my family or myself be back to this place!!

I brought my son here for a consultation.. Dr. Baker made sure not only my son felt comfortable, but I did as well. He explained everything he was doing. He took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. The staff was very professional, never once made me or my son feel we were not wanted there. They all had smiles on their faces, and were happy to help us. I can not give this office the amount of stars it deserves. Definitely recommending to friends and family.

I brought my boys here for an evaluation and Dr. Baker was just amazing with them. He didn't try to cut me short or rush me out of there. He answered all questions with more than just a yes or no. The staff was very respectful and showed more professionalism than any other place we have been to! The fact that they treat everyone like family makes it even more worth the visit! I would give this place more stars if it would let me!

I came in a few weeks ago for an exam and let me just say this.. the girls that work there are the sweetest girls I have ever come in contact with. There are so soft spoken and caring. They remember you by name and not just by your face. Jessica and Alisha that work in the back are by far the most caring people. They ask you repeatedly if you're comfortable and make sure nothing hurts and that everything feels okay before leaving. Dr. Baker himself makes sure all your questions and concerns have been answered in depth and not just simple quick answers. This office is by far the most professional business I have stepped foot in and I will absolutely be recommending it to everyone I know!! Keep up the great work ladies!

Never been to a more clean atmosphere! The ladies that work here are all VERY nice, and they treat me and my Daughter like Family. They greet us with open arms,and they always ask us how we are doing,and they wish us a safe drive back home. I couldnt be more pleased with the service we receive when we come here! Thank you ladies and Dr Baker!
