The MUSC College of Medicine is eager to explore partnerships in clinical education with qualified health care entities. The co-development of designated teaching hospitals and clinical preceptors results in long term benefits to the facility and the community it serves including improving quality of care and creating a pipeline of talented early career healthcare team members a particularly welcome asset in light of increasing health care demands. Affiliate providers also benefit from continuing medical education, participation in grand rounds and ongoing consults.

AnMed Health and the Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine have partnered to create an innovative Clinical Education Program at AnMed Health for medical students. Through the partnership, selected third- and fourth-year MUSC students will complete their final two years of education at AnMed Health in a curriculum designed to emphasize patient-centered primary care. Expanding medical education opportunities for students interested in primary care can improve access to care in South Carolina.

Dr Steed did jaw reconstruction surgery on my son Hugh Williams Jr.on August 1, 2017 for Maxillary hypoplasia and Mandibular hyperplasia. It was supposed to be an outpatient surgery but instead due to the incompetence of Dr Steed, my son was black and blue all over his chest and bleeding so profusely and in such pain he had to be hospitalized. The surgery was not done properly. After multiple rechecks since the problem was not corrected, we were informed he had to have the surgery redone and pay for this correction of Steed's horrible performance. Even though we were informed in writing 3 times that the original surgery was covered 100 percent since we had met our deductible, we were billed from MUSC for the original surgery for $157,000. Instead of letting this incompetent surgeon do the surgery again, my son had corrective surgery done on December 21, 2018 by Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Associates at less than 2 percent of the MUSC cost. Today which is October 29, 2020 my son was informed all the trauma to the jaw due to Dr Steed's extreme incompetence was causing Hugh Jr's teeth on the bottom jaw to degenerate and he now has to have dental implants. DO NOT use this surgeon as he is so incompetent. Horrible experience with life-long repercussions. DR Steed is the worst in his field.
