Hello friends!My name is William Marshall (but my friends call me Sandy), and Im an orthodontist in my hometown of Simpsonville, SC. Thank you for visiting our website. I hope youll find the information here helpful, and I would encourage you to look around! But before you do, let me share a little bit about myself.

I came to Simpsonville, SC, in 1991 when my family moved for my dads job at Michelin.I grew up attending Simpsonville Elementary, then Bryson Middle, and finally Hillcrest High. Highlights of these years included lots of soccer, paintball, backyard Wiffle ball, and as you might have guessed braces! I remember being hesitant at first, but my best memory is of how my crossbite and spaced-out teeth were gradually transformed into a confident smile I was proud of. Thanks, Mom and Dad!

After high school, I stayed close to home and spent the next four years at Furman University (Go Paladins!). I spent the first few years of college unsure about what I wanted to do after graduation. It wasnt until the end of my junior year that I decided to go to dental school. I reasoned that it fit well with my academic strengths and that it was a great way to help people feel good about themselves.

When I began dental school at theMedical University of South Carolina, I knew very quickly that I wanted to become an orthodontist. Not only did I enjoyorthodontics, but I remembered the positive and lasting impact that braces had on my own life. Icompleteda two-year orthodontics residency at the University of Detroit-Mercy, where I studiedbraces,Invisalign, andsurgical orthodontics. After finishing my formal education, Im proud to say that I became aDiplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Since 2012, Ive been privileged to work with thousands of patients in six separate orthodontics offices. Ive collaborated with many dentists, oral surgeons, and other specialists, all in pursuit of giving the bestorthodontic carepossible. Plainly stated,I love my job as a Simpsonville, SC, orthodontist, and I love going the extra mile for my patients. I love that each persons teeth are a puzzle and that none of the puzzles are identical. More than anything, though, I love seeing the transformation that braces can bring in someones life. Hello, Marshall Orthodontics family! My name is Tim Hughes, and I am excited to come alongside Dr. Marshall and the rest of the Marshall Orthodontics team! Id love to tell you all a little bit about myself so we wont be strangers when I meet you in the office.

I am a native of South Carolina and have enjoyed living in the Upstate for most of my life. After completing my Bachelors of Science degree from Wofford College, I went on to earn my dental degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. I then completed my general dentistry residency from the Medical College of Georgia and my orthodontic residency at Boston University. Upon finishing my orthodontic residency, I began practicing the specialty of orthodontics in 1988 when I bought the practice of Dr. Ben W. Lewis in Greenville, where I still currently practice.

I am passionate about my work and truly love helping patients of all ages achieve confident smiles. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner and enjoy attending continuing education courses whenever Im able. Over the 33+ years of practicing orthodontics, I have loved watching the innovations in orthodontic treatment! They have been simply amazing!

When I take my orthodontist hat off, I enjoy spending time with my family wife, Katherine, and our children, Elizabeth and Claibourne. On the weekends, youll often find us exploring downtown Greenville, my favorite area of the Upstate. We enjoy trying new restaurants, especially the atmospheres of the outdoor and rooftop venues.
