Dr. Marvin Marshall is life-long resident of Virginia. He grew up on the outskirts of Richmond in the then small community of Varina as the eldest of five children. He graduated from Varina High School in 1973 and continued his education at the College of William and Mary, J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, Virginia Commonwealth University and the Medical College of Virginia.
He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 1986. After graduation, on a leap of faith, he moved to Fredericksburg; accepting an associate position in Stafford, Virginia. After a few months, he realized he wanted to work for himself and to own a practice.
Dentistry is a passion for Dr. Marshall, but outside the office he has many interests as well. He stays in shape by running 3-5 miles several times a week and likes a good bike ride, either on the road or a mountain bike trail, as often as he can. He enjoys traveling , having had the opportunity to visit all 50 states, and a few places outside the United States. He prides himself on his music collection, takes pleasure in a game of checkers and enjoys the challenge of a Texas Holdem Tournament.

I can't say enough about this doctor and his team. Between my anxiety and dental neglect he had his work cut out for him. The kindness and patience from his team. They made me feel comfortable from day one. His expertise that literally made something from nothing. I trusted the process and I'm super pleased. I highly, highly recommend this place. My own children will go there now because I know they're in the best hands.

You would be hard-pressed to find someone more terrified of the dentist than me; but from the initial call for scheduling to the actual first time visit today the crew at Marshall Dental never let me down. They all went out of their way to make me feel calm and comfortable... They succeeded! I recommend them without hesitation. It's been three or four years since I made the above post, and I still recommend the Marshall Dental Team. They are the very best!

My kids actually love to go the dentist because of Marshall Dental. All of the staff members are very knowledgeable, nice, and personable. They remember my family every time we go in and the details of their care. With a family of 8,this is truly hard to find. They are always on time, efficient, and there's no waisted time. The kids are never nervous and always happy to go because it is always done with love and care. Above all, the dentistry is above expectations. I never worry about fillings or any dental procedures because they are well done and we never have any problems. This staff knows what they are doing and are very thorough with their work. Very satisfied customer of 3 Years!

Dr. Marshall is excellent and very patient and takes time to explain everything to your understanding. The staff are very respectful and friendly. They also work together to treat your emergency with urgency. They follow up with you to make sure you are well taken care off. Scheduling and rescheduling appointments is also easy.

Lost a crown yesterday, I called and was seen at 10:30. They quickly fixed the problem. This was my first time there and I was quite impressed by the dentist and the staff. Felt comfortable and relaxed the entire visit, I have found a new dentist.

This was one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had at a dentist OR doctors office. Every single staff member I came into contact with was so friendly, helpful & eased every bit of anxiety I had. For over 10 years, Marshall Dental has been taking care of our family's dental needs. The front office staff, hygienists and Dr. Marshall are always welcoming, polite and professional. They work with your dental needs no matter how large or small. Recently, they were able to fit my adult son into an emergency appointment as a new patient. We always feel like they take great care of us as patients. The office is clean and well maintained. I would absolutely recommend this office to others.
