Dr. Jason Marks, DDS and Dr. Jennifer Marks, DDS began dating in dental school in 2001. They were married in April of 2005. At the beginning of 2008, they fulfilled their dream of opening their own dental office together. They also had their first child, Marin, a month later. In June 2010, they welcomed their son, Isaac, into the world.
The doctors have been practicing dentistry for nineteen years. After both graduating with honors from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in 2003, they underwent an advanced training regimen called a General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in San Francisco. Here they received in-depth training in diagnosis and treatment planning, bridges and dentures, oral surgery, root canals, and implants.
Both doctors are members of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Buncombe County Dental Society. Dr. Jennifer Marks, DDS is also an affiliate member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. They attend continuing education conferences throughout the year to keep them abreast of the ever-changing technologies and clinical techniques in dentistry.
Dr. Emmy J. Murdock is a summa cum laude graduate of Appalachian State University. After college, Emmy continued her education at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill. In 2010, she graduated dental school with honors. After dental school, Emmy furthered her preparation in dentistry by completing a general practice residency at the Veteran Affairs hospital in San Francisco.
After her residency, she married her husband Stephen in the beautiful mountains of Asheville. During her career, Emmy has worked in dental positions in both private and public sectors. Both have been challenging with their own unique demands in patient care, and both have contributed substantially to the experience and clinical skills she is able to bring to her work as a general dentist. Her clinical interests are wide ranging and include diagnosis and treatment planning in all phases of dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, implant restoration, and oral surgery. She is committed to conservative treatment with an emphasis on prevention of dental disease.
Dr. Murdock is a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, and the Buncombe County Dental Society. She is very excited about joining the team at Marks Family Dentistry. When she is not working, Emmy enjoys being a mother to her daughter and son. Her joy is being with her family and doing family centered activities.

I've been a patient for 6 months and I can't say enough good things about Marks Family Dentistry. I thought my previous two dentists were the best there was but after coming to MFD I realized how inferior my previous dental care was. Dr. Emmy is the best! Dr. Jason and Dr. Jen are the best! My 7 year old son face planted in the dirt on a bike trail on a Saturday morning. His permanent front tooth that was growing in was coming out of the top of his gum and I was worried that it had gotten knocked out of alignment. I called and Dr. Jason and Dr. Jen met me at their office to make sure he was OK. I was so grateful that they were willing to break off from their Saturday morning activity to come meet me to give me a peace of mind. They are awesome!

I switched to Marks Family Dentistry during Covid when my regular dentist of 25 years wasn't seeing patients. And I'm so glad I did. Dr. Emmy listened to my concerns about bleeding gums due to teeth shifting. (My previous dentist had ignored my needs and said there were not any solutions for this) Dr. Emmy referred me to an ontist Great Smiles for Invisalign. Within six months I had amazing results and within a year, no pain or bleeding gums. Dr. Emmy continues to provide excellent care and the hygienist Anna is extremely thorough.

Prompt, friendly, competent ... what is not to like? I just moved full-time to Asheville and changed dentist's after 25+ years with the same dentist. These guys are the best .. from the front desk check in, to the hygienist to the dentist .. all are 5 Stars!! I even went back the same day to get a night guard mold. No more grinding!! Can't recommend them enough! If you have teeth .. go now!

I had a great experience at Marks Family Dentistry July 15, 2020. They were so careful about safety procedures for covid. Dr. Jennifer Marks and Dental Hygienist Anna were so gentle and superb. Also, Mackenzie in the front office was very personable, making me feel at home. The staff I saw were all very friendly and charming, including the other person at the front desk. Since 2020, I have had equally great service with Dr. Jason Marks, Dr. Emmy Murdock and dental hygienist Angie Ballew. The entire medical and clerical staff are outstanding!
