After graduating from Smith College (with a majorin biochemistry and minorin psychology), she attendedColumbia University College of Dental Medicine to earn her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1997. At the dental school, she received the Deans Scholar Award and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. She completed hergeneral practice residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and geriatric dental residency at Parker Jewish Rehabilitation Center in New York.
Dr. Park practiced general dentistry in New York and Maryland for several years before returning to postgraduate school. She earned both a specialty certificate in orthodontics and a Master of Sciencefrom Columbia University. She is board certified in orthodontics and prides herself on uncompromising treatment and personal attention to her patients. Dr. Park aims to provide the highest standard of care while still having fun in the office.
As many of you already know, Dr. Markin recently retired from Markin & Park Orthodontics. We were blessed to have such a caring clinician so keenly focused on offering quality orthodontics to families in the Columbia community. He built a foundation based on patient-first care and excellence in clinical offerings, on which Dr. Park will continue to build.
Dr. Markin practiced orthodontics exclusively in the Columbiaarea since 1972. He received his Bachelor of Sciencein biology from the University of Maryland in 1962 and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the universitys dental school in 1966. After practicing general dentistry for four years, he spent two years at Loyola University of Chicago, where he received his specialty certificate in orthodontics and his mastersin oral biology in 1972. Dr. Markin established his Columbia practice that same year.
Dr. Markin was active in a number of associations related to his field. Besides being a member of four orthodontic study clubs, he was past president of the Howard County Dental Association and the Maryland State Society of Orthodontics. He also served on the faculty of the Orthodontic Department of the University of Maryland Dental School.
Dr. Markin was not only certified by the American Board of Orthodontics but was re-certified to show continued competence. He was awarded a fellowship in the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists, distinctions bestowed on him by his colleagues. Additionally, Dr. Markin was one of nine national Councilors of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. Lastly, he was a member of theSchulman Study Group, which is limited to 125 top orthodontic practitioners in the country.

In the past, orthodontists would use heavy forces to move the teeth. Damon Smile utilizes light forces and low friction to move teeth faster and more gently than ever before. The results are outstanding.
When the braces come off, our patients have the option to choose one of many fun designs for their retainers. Whether your retainer has polka dots or zebra stripes, or is simply your favorite color, it will show your individualism!

We also give rewards for good grades in school and we offer a SAT prep course for juniors in high school.

The staff are very nice and professional, the office is immaculately clean, and I never had to wait long to be seen. I just finished my treatment and I'm so sad to go, but they helped give me an amazing smile. I had so many gaps before and now all my teeth are straight/orderly, I didn't think it would be possible.

This is an excellent place to get Invisalign as an adult. They are very efficient, took my insurance, and the ladies here are very personable. The orthodontist is top tier and results driven. She was honest with me regarding timelines and did a fantastic job of explaining each milestone. The front desk staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Cat is hilarious and I have never had trouble working appointments around my corporate schedule. I would happily recommend them to others.

Excellent, patient, Funny, staff! They have little games all around for younger patients and they play music the entire time. I was a long term patient and they were very caring and helped me during my invisalign.

Our experience with Dr. Park and the entire team at the office has been very pleasant - in addition to being nice and friendly, everyone there is very efficient and professional. Appointments are easy to make, we never had to wait past the appointment time, we get a complete status card with updates and are always able to ask questions and get additional info as needed. There were never any billing issues and costs were presented upfront and in a an easy to understand summary. Overall the whole team and their services are just wonderful. And my son's smile is beautiful :-)

I travel 30 minutes one day to take my daughter to Dr. Park for the past 4 years and cant' be happier. From the moment you walk into the door until you leave they make you feel like family. My child's teeth were not in the best shape and now the braces are off they look so perfect. They are efficient, flexible and the level of care is amazing and anytime you have a emergency, day, night weekend and/or holiday they are there to assist you. During special holidays such as mother's day or a child's birthday they always recognize them or you the parent with something special E.g. candy, balloon, etc. Best decision ever. Don't look any further you will be very happy and pleased.

Dr. Park and her staff were excellent. My daughter and I learned every step in the process for Invisalign as well as all of the pros and cons of braces vs Invisalign. The process was entirely transparent. Kat was especially awesome and engaged/established a great relationship with my daughter immediately, setting her at ease, and making a potentially uncomfortable experience fun and enjoyable.

My daughter has seen Dr. Park for many years. She is a caring, efficient and meticulous when it comes to her patients. The staff is kind and very understanding. I am able to call and make appointments with no problems, I am able to talk with Dr. Park in an emergency, the facility is immaculate and my daughter feels like they listen to her concerns when she expresses them. Overall, this is a great place to bring your children.
