A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Dr. Mills received his doctor of dental surgery degree from Loyola University in Chicago, IL in 1984. He then completed a one-year general practice residency at the University of Chicago in 1987, which provided training in advanced surgicaltechniques, anesthesia, and general medicine. He maintained a private practice in Chicago until relocating to the Myrtle Beach, SC community in 1991.
Recognizing the need along the Grand Strand for a full-service dental implant practice, Dr. Mills completed advanced training in implant dentistry at the Misch Implant Institute in 1995. He then attained certification in the administration of intravenous conscious sedation from the University of Pittsburgh School of DentalMedicine. Dr. Mills stays current in the latest dental techniques by completing numerous hours of continuing education on an annual basis.
Dr. Mills is a diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and a member of the Academy of General Dentistry. He also maintains an active membership with the American Dental Association, South Carolina Dental Association, and the Grand Strand Dental Society.

Dr. Christopher J. Latvis comes to us with a tremendous amount of experience. He graduated in the top 5% of his class from the University of Maryland in 1996. Additionally, he has obtained a three-year specialty degree in Prosthodontics from the University of Connecticut. As a prosthodontic specialist, he hasadvanced training in all aspects of dentistry; particularly aesthetic dentistry, removable and fixed complex cases as well as prosthetic and implant surgical dentistry.
Most of his professional career centered around a vibrant patient-centered practice in Connecticut. Dr. Latvis andhis wife (Diane) of 28years, have an adult daughter (Jaclyn) who is in graduate school and a Havanese puppy named Duke. Besides dentistry, Dr. Latvis enjoys time with family, home projects and fishing. Dr. Latvis is passionate about providing compassionate and comprehensivepatient care.
'Ive never had a bad experience here. As soon as you walk through the door they welcome you by name. They are very patient and kind. I am very nervous when I go to the dentist, but as soon as you get in the chair the nurses make you feel very comfortable and Dr. Mills will make you laugh. Dr. Mills has a great personality. I was very timid, and they were able to put me at ease with their kindness and friendliness. They offer many options for treatment, even for a simple cleaning. And they even got me pushed up to an earlier appointment!! Everyone seems to be going beyond the usual status quo. Would highly recommend to anyone who had a previous bad experience.

I got a dental bridge put in here,when I first moved to the area, by another dentist in the practice at that time, who is no longer there. The bridge broke in a lil under 3 years. I went back in to get this addressed and Dr. Mills did the honorable thing and replaced the bridge at no additional cost to me. He did not have to do this,and most would not have, but so very much appreciated by me. Dr. Mills is the best and has my business from now on and whoever I can recommend to go there. I also work in the medical field so I know this is how patients should be treated.

New resident to area. Wife searched for local dentist and found one. Most dentist offices here are set up to only perform limited services and make patients go to other specialized offices for further work. I wanted an all in one office and found that at Market Common Dentistry. Dentist was very thorough with consultation and explanation. Hygienist was professional and thorough. Office staff friendly and filed insurance. Great Dentist practice.

Been going to Dr.Latvis for a few major dental appointments and each one of them was painless with the oral sedation. I went SEVEN YEARS without going to the dentist due to my extreme anxiety. I cried my first appointment before it even started because I was so scared but the assistants were very caring and reassuring that I had nothing to be scared of. They were right because every appointment was painless and stress-free! With the major dental work i received, I never felt a thing. I always felt comfortable, acknowledged and taken care of. My teeth have never felt or looked better than they do after going to Dr.Latvis. I look forward to my appointments now! Extremely friendly awesome dentist, staff and Lisa is amazing!

Everything I experienced at Market Common Dentistry was of the highest quality. The check in and reception was pleasant and professionally performed. The cleaning process performed by Christine was extremely professional and her pleasant personality just added to the experience. She makes the visit to the dentist a pleasure, believe it or not. The checkout was performed professionally. Overall, for a dental visit this was well done and left me with a good feeling about the business and the people involved.
