Dr. Sommer attended Brooklyn College of the City University of NY and earned a BS in Biological Sciences cum laude in 1978. He went on to attend the New York University College of Dentistry earning his D.D.S. degree in 1982. After dental school, Dr. Sommer continued his dental training at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center and was awarded a certificate for the completion of a General Practice Residency Program
Believing strongly in the value of continuing dental education, Dr. Sommer is an active member of the Atlantic Beach Continuum for Dental Education, formerly the Peninsula Hospital Dental Society, The Eastern Queens Dental Study Group and the Lake Success ITI Implant Study Group. Dr. Sommer receives well over 50 hours of continuing education credits each year in subjects such as implant dentistry, esthetic dentistry, dental materials science and adhesive dentistry.
Dr. Lori Sommer graduated from Brooklyn College of the City University of NY in 1980 with a BS degree in Psychology cum laude. She then attended the New York University College of Dentistry earning her D.D.S. degree in 1984.
Dr. Lori Sommer is a former staff member of the Peninsula Hospital Dental Clinic as well as the Jamaica Hospital Dental Clinic where she staffed the Colgate Bright Smiles Bright Future mobile dental van, visiting elementary schools in Queens and performing dental screenings and teaching home care to the students. She is also a member of the Eastern Queens Dental Study Group.

The entire office is absolutely amazing- everyone is so kind and sweet!!! Dr. Sommer is such a sweet man, I am a highly anxious person and he Definitely helped put my anxiety at ease! if you are looking for a dentist this is your new dentist!

I have been a patient of Dr Sommer for over 20 years and have been exceptionally pleased throughout that time with his skill, friendliness, and overall professionalism. Thanks to him, my teeth and gums continue to be in excellent shape. He is a rare gem, and his office staff reflect the dedication and caring that he radiates.

My wife and I have been coming to Dr. Sommer since we moved into the neighborhood approximately 13 years ago. All I can say is that he is the best dentist ever. I use to dread and lose sleep over upcoming dental appointments, but Dr. Sommer makes it bearable. The cleaning and procedures are thorough and painless for the most part. His expertise and professionalism speaks volume and shows as soon as he starts his exam. There was a time when Dr. Sommer stopped accepting my dental plan. We tried quite a few different dentists and even went to a dentist friend in Westchester, but none have come close to the skill level of Dr. Sommer. But luckily, we changed dental plans now and are reunited with the best! I've even considered paying out of pocket just to have Dr. Sommer be my main dentist. The office is located right off the highway and parking is ample. The staff are extremely nice and accommodating. I highly recommend Dr. Sommer.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mark Sommers for the last 25 years. He provides a high level of preventative maintance. When he does have to perform proceedures, he always explains the details in advance and always gets great results. Dr. Sommers is very pleasant and easygoing. I strongly recommend him.

He has been available for emergency visits. His staff Is wonderful. I never like going to the dentist but Dr Sommer makes it a little easier
