Dr. Mark Shefrin has been providing superior dental care to patients in the Duluth area since 2008. Since establishing his own practice, Dr. Shefrin has been committed to making all of his patients feel like family, from the moment they enter the office and even after they leave.
He graduated from University of Manitoba Dental School in 2001, and entered an Advanced General Dentistry residency program at the University of Michigan. However, his thirst for knowledge continues beyond his time at both universities. Every year, Dr. Shefrin completes at least 200 hours of continuing education, and has also studied with the Pankey Institute of Dentistry. Dr. Shefrin empowers his team and his patients to learn as much as they can about their dental options and health.
As a Treatment Coordinator and a certified Expanded Duties Dental Assistant, youll see Shelley helping patients in so many different ways when you visit our office. Shes involved in anything and everything from assisting Dr. Shefrin and coordinating treatments to welcoming new patients into our growing dental family. Shelley says she loves what she does because of the total, comprehensive care that every patient receives. She likes being part of a team that takes the extra step to form deep relationships with patients. Shelley always makes time for her husband and two kids, their greyhound, working on home decor, and cheering on the Packers.
For over three decades Kim has been busy helping patients of all ages learn about the advantages of excellent oral health habits because she believes in keeping teeth for a lifetime. Youll probably find Kim somewhere in the office making patients smile thanks to her enjoyable, educational, and compassionate kind of gentle dental care. Shes also responsible for soft tissue management, periodontal maintenance, taking x-rays, CT scans, and photos with the high-tech intraoral camera. One of the things Kim loves the most about our dental family is the time and attention we put into all of the work we do because it emphasizes how vital each patient is to all of us. Outside of the office, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband and children, being outdoors, volunteering, and celebrating her faith.
Before entering into the exciting world of dentistry, Terri attended school at the University of Georgia, New Hampshire Technical Institute, and St. Josephs University. Terri has over 30 years experience working in dental health care and loves the fact that she gets to help so many people improve their oral health and love their smile. Terri is a former Dental Hygiene Clinical Instructor and the former Director of Dental Services at a long-term care facility where she was able to develop further her fondness for working with geriatric patients. Youll probably find this motivated hygienist traveling, boating, golfing, gardening, attending outdoor concerts, and spending time with her family when shes not at work.
Youll meet Angela for your teeth cleaning, and you can always feel at ease knowing youre in good hands. Shes been working in dentistry for over 15 years and really enjoys showing people the real value of dentistry and taking care of their smiles. Angela will tell you that she loves all of the different duties and tasks she takes on every day around the office, but the part of the work that she does is working with people and making a difference in their lives. In her spare time, Angela loves being with her husband and their two beautiful children. She also likes to travel, visit historical sites, and learn about new cultures.

My former dentist of many years retired and I found Dr. Shefrin through my son. I have a definite anxiety about dentists and was pleasantly surprised after my first visit to Dr. Shefrin's office. He and his staff are great! They took the time to show me around and after listening to my fears and reviewing my history they developed a plan moving ahead! The fear and trepidation for each visit and cleaning was greatly reduced! Fully recommend these folks!

I love my dentist! How many people can say that. I was a regular patient but moved away for a few years. I was waiting for my covid vaccine before scheduling a cleaning but I just got a bad tooth ache and was in a lot of pain. Dr. Shefrin and his staff fit me right in and got me taken care of, they remembered all about my dental history and it was like I had never been away. I've got an abscess and they got me referred quickly for a root canal. It's comforting to know that the staff really cares about you and will get you taken care of when you need it the most. Dr. Shefrin is also very smart and good at what he does and I trust him with my oral health. I definitely recommend him.

Went in on December 20th 2019 because I had a painful abscess. He said it was not an abscess but a bone growth that had got scratched. He charged me and my insurance company almost $250 to make that determination. I went through Christmas and New Years with it still raw and painful. It started hurting really bad a week ago (jan 6, 2019). I used to work in Tucker for 7 years and had a regular dentist there. I went back to my regular dentist. It was an abscess and I needed a root canal and a crown. I stopped by the office to tell them what happened...even his office manager could see the abscess draining in the image he took on December 20th and his notes saying it wasn't an abscess. She called me back today to let me know that he's sticking to his original misdiagnosis that it is just a scratch. Bye $250, thanks for almost a month of pain... Also, WAY overpriced. I got a root canal and new crown at my regular dentist for less than he charged my husband (same insurance) for only a crown.

I love everyone! They are caring, very very skilled and very efficient. I have been a patient there for three years and Dr. Shefrin is a dentist you can trust, who gives you the facts and works with you to improve and maintain your health. I appreciate that they monitor other issues like blood pressure, sleep apnea, proper occlusion (bite) and even the over all wear and tear that most of us have in our jaw joints. I've been educated on how to better care for myself and my outcome proves that working together with your healthcare provider gets the best result. He is helping me to keep my molars as long as possible even with my considerable bone loss I have experienced since I was diagnosed with periodontal (gum) disease in 2005. My splint, that I can't do without, keeps me from grinding, helps relieve muscle pain and headaches and helps to stabilize my looser back teeth. Most dentists don't even know how to properly make one. They are one of his specialties and adjustments to optimize the benefits are included. Sincere thanks to my dental team Dr. Mark Sherin, Shelley, Alexis, Rhonda, and Angie!

The entire staff is very friendly. Each person I've dealt with has taken the time to explain what they're doing and why. They make sure that any questions or concerns I have are addressed. And Dr. Shefrin has gone above and beyond all of this to educate me as well. I'm both relieved and excited that I've found my new dentist and staff!
