For over 30 years, Dr. Taira has been providing his patients with exceptional comprehensive dental care. Dr. Taira earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California in 1985.
A Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists, Dr. Taira knows it is important to stay attuned to the ever changing treatment modalities and trends in dentistry. He also maintains active memberships in the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Japanese-American Dental Society and the Western Los Angeles Dental Society to keep current on the latest techniques and technologies.
When he's not working, Dr. Taira volunteers his time to several local organizations. He has served as the Secretary of the California Dental Association (CDA) Foundation, Past-Trustee for the CDA, and President of the Western Los Angeles Dental Society. Dr. Taira currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Dentist's Insurance Company. Dr. Taira also taught for 15 years at the Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC.
With 29 years of experience, Dr. Murakawa offers patients the most advanced dental treatments available. She first obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Los Angeles before earning her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1986. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Murakawa completed a General Practice Residency at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center.
To stay in touch with her peers and keep current on the latest advancements in her field, Dr. Murakawa holds memberships in many prestigious professional organizations. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Japanese-American Dental Society, Western Los Angeles Dental Society and the Southern California Academy of Oral Pathology.

I have been coming to Dr. Murakaiwa for many years and even followed her to her current location after she moved from her Alhambra location because there is no one else I trust like her and her incredible staff. I am always greeted with her friendly and professional staff members every time I visit. Dr. Murakaiwa is absolute incredible dentist. She is always so thorough with her cleanings and always willing to accommodate my needs. This last visit, I was only scheduled for a routine cleaning and I was the last patient of the day so I'm sure everyone was ready to go home but Dr. Murakaiwa noticed a small cavity which needed a filling and her and her staff happily took care of it right then and there so I wouldn't have to return and schedule another appointment. Amazing dentist and amazing staff!

Dr Taira and his staff (especially Maribel) are wonderful. Very professional yet so friendly and caring. It is actually a pleasure to have my teeth cleaned. My husband has had several problems with his teeth and Dr Taira has taken care of all his needs making him feel comfortable and confident of getting the best care. I highly recommend Dr Taira.

Dr. Taira is so kind, calm, and reassuring. It is never stressful to see him. I also feel that he is very thorough and that I can trust him. The staff at his office is very organized as well as being nice. A great place for dental care.

From the start to finish, everyone in the office were professional, yet personable and friendly. I'm usually a person who has quite a bit of anxiety when it comes to doctors and dentist, but not here. From the front office, to the tech and the dentist herself made me feel relaxed. They were asking me if I was comfortable and if I needed anything and making sure I was never in pain while having the cleaning. She answered my questions without sounding judgmental or feeling like she's being rushed. I mean it had been a long time since I had been to a dentist. I'm 52, so I've had my share of horror stories, but thankful this is the exact opposite. I'm going back in about a week for a cavity filling (yes a cavity, I said it had been awhile). Anyways, my wife recommended her to me and going forward, I won't go to any other dentist.
