Dr. Mark Swimmer was born and raised in Lafayette. He graduated from Acalanes High School in 1980 and attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for his undergraduate studies. He continued on to the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. There, Dr. Swimmer was a member of XI PSI PHI fraternity until he received his doctorate degree in 1988. He then partnered in practice with his father, Dr. Alan Swimmer. In 2000, Dr. Alan Swimmer retired and Dr. Troy Lauritzen took over his part of the practice.

Dr. Mark Swimmer married in 1989 and lives with his wife in Orinda. He has two grown sons, Blake and Kevin. His oldest son, Blake, has recently joined his Dr. Mark's practice, as a 3rd generation dentist. In his spare time, Dr. Swimmer spends as much time as possible outdoors. He enjoys golfing, skiing, boating and traveling. As with most dentists, he also likes wood working and building things around the house.

Dr. Swimmer is an active member of the American Dental Society, the California Dental Association, the Contra Costa Dental Society, the American Society of Osseointegration, and the International Team of lmplantology. Dr. Swimmer also participates in case studies and reviews as a member of the Pacific Dental Study Guild.

Troy attended the University of Southern California and graduated with a degree in Exercise Physiology. He went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco.

Dr. Troy jumped into private practice in Lafayette in 1996. He loves dentistry and his close relationship with the community along with the special bonds that have been created over time. He continues his dedication to excellence in the art and science of dentistry providing scientifically-based, conservative patient care. He is focused on preventive, family, cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry.

Dr. Blake Swimmer grew up in Orinda, where he spent a lot of time playing sports while growing up. He attended Miramonte High School, where he was the captain of the football team and played lacrosse.

Blake went on to the University of Oregon to pursue a career in sports business. While at the University of Oregon, he skied on the alpine ski team. Halfway through his time in college, he decided that his heart was actually in the family business and changed his major to fulfill dental school requirements.

While attending the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, Blake served as president of his class for two years, earning the Sigmund Abelson Leadership Award before he graduated in June of 2018. One of the highlights of Blakes dental school experience was a mission trip in Jamaica, where he and his colleagues provided dental services to over a thousand people in one week.
