Janet Tarkington graduated with a Master of Science in Health Care Administration degree from Grand Canyon University. She obtained with Highest Distinction, her Bachelor of Science in Biology/ Pre-dentistry from Purdue University. She also graduated with Highest Distinction, her Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene from Indiana University Northwest. Janet is also a Certified Dental Assistant, a Licensed American Heart Association CPR Educator, and a former faculty member of the Dental Education Department at IU Northwest. She also served as the Dental Education Representative for the Indiana University Northwest Alumni Association Board of Directors. While serving the IUNAA Board, she chaired the 2019 IUN Grad Night held at the Patrician Banquets and chaired the Grant Committee where they received monetary awards utilized for 2019 IU Day and 2019 IUN Grad Night.
Janet has been a Licensed Dental Hygienist with a Local Anesthesia permit since 2011. She taught at IU Northwest for almost eight years while working as a part-time clinician at different private practices including a specialty Periodontists office. While at IUN, Janet taught Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting students and taught the following courses: Head & Neck Anatomy; Periodontics I; Periodontics II; Microbiology & Infection Control; Pharmacology; Anatomy & Physiology; Ethics, Jurisprudence, & Practice Management for DH ONLINE; Oral Histology & Embryology; Practice Management, Jurisprudence, & Ethics for DA; co-instructed Oral Anatomy Lab; Radiology Lab; Fundamentals of DH; and Clinical Practice I, II, & III clinics. Janet also spearheaded the IUN Dental Education CPR simulation protocol, IUN Dental Camp, and the lead coordinator for the Dental Education Website re-design project.
Janet loves being a Dental Hygienist and is passionate about teaching. According to her, Kindness and genuine care goes a long waywhen I taught/mentored my students or treated a patient, it felt good that at the end of the day, I have done a positive thing. Treat each patient the way I would like to be treated because each one has unique needs and it is so rewarding to work with some of my former students. I am so proud of them!

First visit to Lakeland creek family dental. I was very impressed from the minute I walked in until I left the office. Nadine greeted me and explained all the papers, procedures and cost so clearly. Janet my dental hygienist that took my xrays and cleaned my teeth was great. She explained everything she was doing and the results. Dr. Dankowski was very kind and you could tell he was a perfectionist. Looking forward to getting my crown later this week. 3/1/21. I received my crown today and it's beautiful and I'm very pleased. Great fit and match. Love it

Once again my husband Kelvin and I met with Janet the hygienist who did a very detailed cleaning to both our teeth. She is still very funny with a Beautiful Spirit and last but never least Dr. Dankowski is still very attentive to explaining my treatment plan and what he feels is best... Thank you to all the staff members involved for always giving us the Greatest Dental Experience possible

They did a great job with my Mom. They were very patient with her and kind. They were very conscious of possible pain and consistently checked with her to make sure she was not in any pain during her procedure. I would recommend Lakeland Creek Family Dental for your family dental needs.

Dr. Dankowski and the staff always make me feel welcome and provide excellent service in a clean, comfortable environment. Janet and George, the dental assistants, genuinely care for their patients and respond to any concerns I might have. Dr. Dankowski does outstanding dental work with virtually no pain. He gives excellent guidance on all my dental needs. He also delivers great dental work at a reasonable cost. I highly recommend Lakeland Creek Family Dental. I'm really happy I found this dental office! I broke a tooth and had it pulled today...Totally pain free! Everyone in the office is friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help you. I would definitely recommend them.

My first visit to Lakeland Creek Family Dental was yesterday it was a great visit!! The receptionist was very kind and had good humor! One of my crowns had popped off and I didn't have a dentist in state so I called Lakeland. My appointment was at 3 and I was in the dental chair right before 3 no waiting!! My hygienest was awesome with great chair side manner she really made you feel at ease. All of the equipment was state of the art and the whole experience was painfree. Dr. Dankowski was very patient in fixing my crown to ensure proper fitting. When he was cementing the crown in he apologized in advance for the pressure and I never felt a thing! So all in all I would definitley recommend Lakeland Creek Family Dental!!! They will be mine and my husbands permanent dental office :)

Lakeland Creek Family Dental is a extremely clean office that runs smoothly & efficiently. Professionalism & friendliness of the staff is outstanding! I was very impressed with the knowledge and patience displayed while explaining procedures, answering my questions and making sure I was comfortable. I also appreciate that Dr. Dankowski extracted a tooth PAIN FREE and was respectful as he asked me questions and listened to answers before explaining my options regarding future procedures. I feel positive moving forward that Dr. Dankowski and his staff will help me toward obtaining & maintaining a healthy smile. Highly Recommend to everyone!!!

My first visit was very comfortable in a nice clean environment. Everything was explained to me on what to expect on my next visit. The staff was very professional and truly nice. I fell confident in my return to get the extensive work needed to gain my healthy teeth again. Came in early to find out about a dental issue. They got me in early. Doctor assured I didn't have a issue gave me advice and out I went. This office is on par with everything I ever needed. Very nice and professional. Will recommend to anyone.

Had a wonderful experience today at the dentist. He was very nice a d helpful and with all his girls that work there. I suffer from anxiety and they all were so nice and just taking their time with me. Our daughter is making an appointment tomorrow too
