I attended Dental School in Lincoln, Nebraska at University of Nebraska Medical Center Dental School and graduated in 1982. I moved to the Panhandle in 1982 and worked in Morrill with Dr. Dan Howard for a few years before permanently setting up my practice here in Scottsbluff.
In 2010 I was invited to be a mentor for the Cerec Doctors program. I travel to Arizona a several times a year to continue my knowledge in the changing Cerec procedures as well as helping new dentists train in the Cerec technology. It has been extremely rewarding.I belong to the Academy of General Dentistry. In the past year, I have taken 77 course hours with theAcademyof GeneralDentistry tocontinuemy knowledge in the field of dentistry.
I married my wife Amy in 1986. We live in Scottsbluff, and we are constantly traveling to keep up with our 3 daughters sports careers. My hobbies include hunting, fishing, camping, reading, and spending time with family.
Dr. Westphal provides his staff with many opportunities to continue their dental education. This winter, he took his staff to the Scottsdale Center of Dentistry in Arizonafor a weekend of educational classes.
Cheri graduated from dental assisting school in 1976 from Mid Plains Community College in North Platte. She worked as a dental assistant for about 15 years in Ogallala and moved to the Panhandle in 1991 and started working for Dr. Westphal in 1992. Shelater became the front office manager and continues to assist patients with scheduling andinsurance.She is married andhas 3 children and 9 grandchildren. She enjoys walking, golfing, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family. One of the things she loves about working here is to see the patients reaction when we do cosmetic dentistry. She likes to see how happy they are when they see the differencein their smile. She likes working with the staff and thinks Dr. Westphal is a very kind, caring boss.
Crystal has been in the dental field since 1988 when she worked for Dr. Westphal when he started in Morrill. Her 3children and 2 grandchildren keep her busy. She enjoys playing volleyball, riding horses, and 4 wheeling in the mountains.
Kay began working as a dental tech in 1994. She has worked for Dr. Westphal since 2008. She lives in Gering with her husband and two kids. She enjoys walking, gardening, swimming, spending time with her family, and watching her children grow up. Her favoritethings about dentistryare the relationships shecontinues to develop with the patients,watching the patients' lives change through the work we do and helping to soothe the patients'discomfort. She enjoys working with Dr. Westphal and rest of the staff because they are like a family.
Shannon has been working in the dental field since 2012. She began working for Dr. Westphal in 2013. She lives in Wyoming with her husband and two kids. She enjoys hanging out with her family, cooking,being outdoors, hiking, 4 wheeling, and fishing. Her favorite part about dentistry is meeting new patients and forming relationships with them. She enjoys Dr. Westphal's office because it has a great atmosphere and they make the patients feel like it's a fun, relaxed place.
Melody graduated from the UNMC College of Dentistry in 1984. She has been a hygienist in the dental field for 30 years. She started working forDr. Westphal in 1990. She lives in Bridgeport with herhusband and they have 3 girls. She enjoys reading and spending time with her family. She got into dentistry because shelikes the sciences, but she stays in it because she really enjoys seeing her patients. She say that she feels likeevery set of teeth has it's own personality.
Joni graduated from dental schoolin 1987 from University of Nebraska Dental College. She has been in the dental field for 27 years and has worked for Dr. Westphal for 21 years. She lives in Scottsbluff with her husband. They travel often to watch their two children participate in college athletics. Her favorite part of dentistry is helping people who have a fear of dentistry come to enjoy their regular visits and seeing them have healthy teeth.
Brodee has been working for Dr. Westphal since 2012. She enjoys skiing, being outdoors, and spending summers at the lake with her family. Betweenher young son and summer hobbies, she stays busy. Her favorite thing about dentistry is the hands on aspect, the way it relates to science and meeting new people.
