Periodontics LLC was founded by Dr. Richard Yamada in 1969 with its first location in downtown Chicago. A few years later the second location in Skokie was opened and Dr. Douglas Gorin joined him in the practice. A long-lasting friendship developed. Over the years they were joined by Drs. Richard Marinello and Mark Rosen.

The next generation of Periodontists that joined the practice over the past 15 years, Drs. Steve Russo, Nadine Brodala, Dan Weber, and Bartosz Maska, are determined to carry on the legacy of this practice.

Dr. Stephen Russo graduatedMagna Cum Laudefrom the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he was inducted into the national dental honor society,Omicron Kappa Upsilon(OKU). He completed his periodontics, implant and sedation training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, serving as Chief Resident for two years. Throughout his residency he maintained a private practice in general dentistry. He distinguished himself nationally as the recipient of the Gerald M. Kramer Scholar Award from the American Academy of Periodontology.

Dr. Russo is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery. He is the past President of the Chicago Academy of Dental Research. He holds membership in many dental organizations, including the American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association, Seattle Study Club, Midwest Society of Periodontology, Chicago Dental Society, and the Chicago Academy of Dental Research. He has also lectured nationally & internationally on dental implants & esthetic dental procedures. Dr. Russo has repeatedly received recognition as a top dental specialist by Guide to Americas Top Dentists, Americas Best Dentists, Chicago Magazine and the International Association of Dentists.

Dr. Russo is married to Dr. Ana Bedran-Russo, who is an Associate Professor and director of Applied Dental Materials & Interfaces at the University of Illinois at Chicago Dental School. Steve & Ana have three children, Matthew, Paloma, and Alex.

Dr. Nadine Brodala received her D.D.S. and Dr. med. dent. degrees from the Dental School at Philipps-Universitt Marburg in Germany. She spent several years in private practice and then completed postgraduate training in Periodontology and Implantology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. During her residency, the American Academy of Periodontology awarded her the covetedBalint Orban Awardfor her research in periodontal medicine.

She began her professional career in the U.S. as a faculty member in the Department of Periodontology at UNC, and was inducted into the national dental honor society,Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU). During her eight years at UNC, she practiced extensively in the intramural interdisciplinary group practice (Dental Faculty Practice) in all fields of Periodontology and Implantology. She also trained many Residents and served as their Clinical Director. Furthermore, she has been the Director of the Implant Scholarship (granted by the International Team of Implantology ITI) during her tenure at UNC.

Dr. Brodala is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She holds membership in many national and international dental organizations, including the American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association, ITI (Fellow Status), and DGP (German Academy of Periodontology).

She nationally and internationally lectures on new concepts and advances in Implantology and Periodontology. She regularly publishes in peer-reviewed dental journals and has authored a book chapter on the clinical applications of piezoelectric surgery.

An accomplished board-certified surgeon, Dr. Dan Webers philosophy is to listen genuinely to his patients and individualize their care. Dr. Weber tailors treatment to each person and strives to make his or her experience as positive and relaxing as possible. He offers sleep dentistry (oral and intravenous sedation); dental implant therapy for single and multiple missing teeth, including Teeth-in-a-Day/All-on-4-type techniques; bone-preserving extractions; advanced bone and sinus grafting; cosmetic treatment of gum recession as well as gummy smiles; and management of periodontal disease. As an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology and Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Dr. Weber stays up to date on clinical innovations in dentistry to provide most sophisticated treatment to his clientele. His skills are considerable; he has successfully placed thousands of implants over his career and created many healthy and satisfied smiles.

A native son of Schaumburg, IL, Dr. Weber received his bachelors degree with high honors from DePaul University. He earned his DDS in 2003 and masters degree in periodontics in 2006 from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, one of most distinguished dental programs in the world. Returning to Chicago, Dr. Weber devoted his energy to private practice. He prides himself on sustaining meaningful working relationships with patients and referring dentists. His most precious bond, however, is with his family; wife Sarah, a chiropractor, and his two sons keep him grounded and appreciative of the simple things in life. In his free time, he introduces his children to the hidden gems of Chicago, patronizes the Lyric Opera, and explores the flourishing culinary scene.
