Dr. Seda was born and raised in Marin County. He grew up in Tiburon, and graduated from Redwood High School in Larkspur, CA. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), graduating Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology. After achieving one of his lifelong dreams of being accepted into Harvard University, Dr. Seda moved across the continent to attend the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. Earning his D.M.D. degree in 2003, it was at Harvard that he was exposed to talented minds, a forward thinking, progressive curriculum, and world class facilities. There, Dr. Seda was actively involved in research, collaborating with Drs. Thomas Dodson and Meredith August, in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department of Massachusetts General Hospital. As the first author of the study, he investigated how panoramic head x-rays can be used to predict the location of nerves in the jaw (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15635549).
After graduating from Harvard, Dr. Seda furthered his training and received his Certificate in Periodontology from the Columbia University School of Dental Medicine, Division of Periodontology. This three-year residency was devoted to acquiring additional expertise in dental implantology, bone grafting, gum grafting, periodontal regeneration, sinus grafting, and cosmetic surgery. Simultaneous to this residency, Dr. Seda earned a Masters Degree in Oral Medicine, for his research on how oral infections can impact systemic health outcomes in cardiovascular disease (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19426174, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17716309). For his work on this intensive research project, Dr. Seda was awarded the Melvin Morris Award for Excellence in Periodontal Research from Columbia University, a distinction that is awarded to only one researcher per year for their excellence in dental research.
Upon graduating from Columba in 2006, Dr. Seda practiced periodontics and dental implantology in New York City for one year. During this time, he was exposed to a several private practice settings, from high profile mid-town private practices, to small boutique practices on Wall Street. This exposure allowed Dr. Seda to hone his skills in a variety of procedures and techniques.
In 2007, after years away from home, Dr. Seda moved back to Marin County and started practicing in San Rafael. Since that time, he has been regarded as a leader and authority in the field of periodontics and dental implants, and strives to bring a holistic approach to his practice. Dr. Seda has integrated several cutting-edge technologies and techniques into his practice, including the use of platelet rich fibrin (PRF) for the purposes of tissue engineering/regeneration, Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) and intra-oral 3D scanning cameras for improved imaging and diagnosics, 3D printed stereolithic surgical guides for more accurate dental implant placement, metal-free all ceramic dental implants, Pinhole Gum Rejuvenation, lasers, and more. His current research interests involve how cannabis and CBD products can be used to enhance patient outcomes and experience in dentistry.
In 2010, he founded, and is the Director of, the North Bay Dental Study Club. The mission of this organization is to provide advanced continuing education and training for dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants, in various aspects of dentistry. Dr. Seda has lectured for a variety of study clubs all over the country, on topics ranging from advanced periodontal therapies, esthetic surgery, digital workflows in implant dentistry, laser therapies in dentistry, and enhanced patient experience.
Over the years, the relationships he has forged with patients, his team, and his dentist partners, have allowed him to experience a most gratifying professional career. Each day, he has the privilege of using cutting edge techniques and technologies to partner with his patients, and help them achieve optimal oral health. He is constantly investigating new ways of introducing the latest advancements and techniques in dentistry/medicine. This is a blessing and honor he never takes for granted. In his time outside dental practice, he strives for a healthy balance of family time, staying fit (running, biking, yoga, gym), and the constant and never-ending study of self-improvement.
Emily has been a practicing dental assistant for over 16 years, and has been part of our practice as a surgical assistant for over 10 years. She was born in Ohio but was raised in Sacramento, California. She graduated from University of California Davis with a bachelors degree in Clinical Nutrition, has also done research in environmental toxicology and has also worked as a Medical Scribe at a pain management clinic. Emily loves to educate patients to improve their care and to also work with patients individual needs. Outside of work her passions are cooking and baking unique dishes, all types of exercise, many different forms of art and spending time with family and friends.
Kamila is a Registered Dental Assistant in the State of California, as well as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician. She joined the practice in 2014, and was an elected officer for the Marin Dental Assistant Society from 2015-2017. Helping patients achieve their goals for good oral health is something that she strives for daily. She is very proud to be part of Dr. Seda's knowledgeable and compassionate team. On her days off youll find her hiking local trails or enjoying the abundance of activities the Bay Area has to offer.
Michelle is passionate about making sure patients are comfortable during their care, from the start to finish. It means the world to her that all patients she interacts with feel well cared for, and that their best interests are at the forefront of their care with the practice. You will hopefully come to find that she is personable, caring, and has the most contagious laugh. When she is not hard at work, you can find her dancing salsa, reading poolside, or traveling around the world. She has a deep passion for life, family and friends.
Melissa is from Houston, Texas. She is usually the first person to greet patients with a warm smile when they arrive to or call the practice. She enjoys making people smile and laugh. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family, dancing, hiking and cooking.
Lily has enjoyed being in the dental field for over twenty years. As a hygienist since 2007, she loves taking care of others and her priority is always to make sure patients are well taken care off. Adapting to each individuals needs with patience, gentleness, and motivation, she is devoted to improve and/or maintain and motivate patients to optimal oral health. When not practicing dental hygiene, Lily likes to spend time with family, her dog, painting, or seeking some adrenaline highs by driving her sport car at any of closest racetracks for HPDE (high precision driving events).
She enjoyed the exciting and challenging environment the work provided and has pursued it ever since. When she moved to Marin in 1994, Jodi continued practicing in periodontal practices where she was part of teams using cutting edge techniques and high quality dental care. Having had the wonderful opportunity to practice with Dr. Seda since 2007, she enjoys building long term relationships with patients and strives to give optimal care in order to maintain their periodontal health for years to come.
Ashley grew up in the Lake Tahoe area and moved to Marin in 2007. She has been with the practice since 2012 and has been an insurance biller since 2007. In 2014, Ashley left for a short while, after welcoming her son and daughter, to be a stay-at-home mom and has since returned to the office part-time. Ashley is dedicated to being a patient advocate and assisting our patients in maximizing any and all dental benefits. Ashley also has a background in hospitality and brings her extensive customer service skills to offer each and every patient a 5-star experience. When Ashley isnt in the office, she is busy caring for her two young children. She frequently enjoys going home to Tahoe to be with family and spending as much time outside as possible.

I had a great experience. The staff was attentive and nice. Dr. Seda did an excellent job during the procedure. He was caring, fun and competent. I didn't have complications through out the process. I'm glad it worked.

I have been procrastinating about getting a gum graft for over a year, which has been recommended by my dentist. Finally decided for Dr Seda mostly due to the excellent reviews. Both the procedure as well as the recovery seem to have gone well, no complaints. Dr Seda was very patient and didn't mind answering questions and helping me to be less concerned about the risks. If l ever need a similar procedure again, then this periodontist will be my first choice. I can highly recommend him!

Dr Seda is simply fantastic. I'm one of the rare people who has been to multiple periodontists and Dr Seda is by far the best. My first gum graft with a different Dr did not go well. Dr Seda showed me all the ways it would be better this time around. I was skeptical but he was right. -More up to date procedure that lasts longer and looks better aesthetically -New technology to speed up healing -Access to him directly with his cell phone # in case something came up I was talking and eating normally within 24-48 hours of the procedure which was not my experience the first time. It was a breeze and now I'm done for life. Everything went so well my wife went to him too for a different gum procedure. Not all Doctors are created equal so do yourself a favor and come in.

I had a very good experience with Dr. Seda and his staff. It's comforting to go into a procedure you were dreading with a kind and ultra-competent team. Dr. Seda was answered my questions thoroughly, was cautious with options and the implant went well. Interaction with the practice was more than "customer service," it felt like genuine caring.

Dr Seda and every member of his staff is impressively competent, professional and seriously good at what they each and all do. Whether it is the responsiveness of staff, the capable assistants or the doc himself, it is a terrific practice. Dr. Seda is a nice person who explains things thoroughly, AND he is an excellent surgeon. My gum surgery and recovery process was super easy and painless--and he had consulted with my orthodontist and dentist in advance for a really personalized treatment plan, towards a shared result on this tough case. I feel very comfortable endorsing this surgeon and practice--they are absolutely the best.

I first went to Dr. Seda in 2017 on a recommendation and referral from my primary dentist for gum issues. Dr. Seda recommended that I have laser gum surgery and on two separate appointments completed successful surgeries. Recently I returned for a extraction and tooth implant and couldn't be happier with the results. Throughout all of my visits I have found both Dr. Seda and his entire staff to be professional and courteous and would highly recommend them.

I am unsure why this review keeps wanting to post under my husbands name - but either way I need to post the amazing service and quality work from Dr. Seda! First, the staff is so friendly, patient, and communicated with me the entirety of the process, financial process, and post and pre follow-up. Dr. Seda has excellent bed side manners. Addressed every concern and anxiety I had about the procedure. He truthful with the survey capabilities given the extend of the work and different simultaneous procedures. Overall, I would give his more stars if possible. Additionally, he worked with a few other doctors to help deliver on my expectations. Happy to answer any questions if needed. For the most part, I do business based on word of mouth and Dr. Seda was recommended by one of my closest friends who's a Dentist.

Dr. Seda and his wonderful team created an atmosphere of trust and comfort for me when considering a gum graft surgery. Recommended by my dentist and a friend. Every step of the way was clear and concise. I've had gum grafts in the past where I was left wondering about post operation experiences-but not with Dr. Seda. Using the most current practices, my surgery was completed efficiently and comfortably. At any time-pre-op, post op, I knew I could reach out for help or have any questions answered. I would highly recommend Dr. Seda for any dental procedures.

Recently, I had a gum graft performed by Dr. Seda. I had been putting off the procedure for 15 years because I was so nervous about it. Despite it not being a pleasant procedure to have, Dr. Seda and his team made the entire experience as good as it possibly could have been. I healed very quickly and now a few months later, the results are clearly excellent. Durning my initial consultation, Dr Seda took so much time with me to go over any questions or concerns and was 100% present during the entirety of the appointment. His calm and caring manner was very reassuring and I felt completely comfortable moving forward. The supporting staff in the office was also very professional and friendly. All of my appointments were easy to schedule and every one started on time. Billing/insurance was handled very well and I only experienced great communication. If I have a need for a periodontist in the future, I will definitely be going back the Dr. Seda.

I have seen Dr. Seda for two different surgeries and can only say good things about both of my experiences with him. My second surgery happened during COVID times and Dr. Seda's team took all the necessary precautions to make my experience extremely safe and comfortable. He has a great team working alongside him and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great periodontist.

Very professional and knowledgeable. I found them to be very good at answering any questions and the doctor communicates very clearly what is going on and what the options are. Some processes take many steps and they are very clear about where you are at and what comes next. No negatives.

I've been going to Dr. Seda's practice for years now and have always gotten outstanding service from him and his staff. I've been apprehensive about getting dental work done since the pandemic started, as I have some serious health issues, but I finally went to have my teeth cleaned this week, and was put at ease by all the measures they have in place for the safety of their staff and clients. I'm especially grateful that Jodi, my excellent dental hygienist, explained all of the added safety measures before getting started.

Scaredy-cat Yep, that was me. I'm one of those individuals who fear going to the dentist. That is, until I went to Marin Contemporary Perio. Dr. Seda has a calming demeanor that will immediately put you at ease. His entire staff will make you feel very comfortable during your procedure. Everyone is incredibly kind, patient and extremely professional. I highly recommend his office to anyone that requires periodontal services with a side of tlc.
