Dr. Mannering graduated from Northwestern Dental School in 1980 and has been in private practice in Chicago for over 30 years. She is committed to continuing education. After completing the curriculum at the Pankey Institute, she was invited to join the visiting faculty and has continued to teach there for the last 14 years. In addition to her work at the Pankey Institute, Dr. Mannering has also studied with the Dawson and Spear Centers for continuing education. Currently, Dr. Mannering is enrolled in a one-year orofacial pain program to better serve patients who have TMD, sleep disorders, and other types of orofacial pain.
Recently, Dr. Mannering presented at the American Dental Association National meeting on occlusion and at the Academy of General Dentistry on occlusion and aesthetics. Her leadership in dentistry is realized in the many study clubs she has initiated and continues to facilitate in the United States and abroad.
She is currently taking her gap year before starting at UICs College of Dentistry next Fall. She is enthusiastic to further develop her skills in the field of dentistry and become a competent clinician within her community.
