Dr. Noelle has a wonderful and busy life outside of Dentistry. Her husband, Keith, practices Chiropractic here in Marathon. They have three children, busy in school and activities, also in Marathon. She has a passion for fitness, both training and competition.

Dr. Corey Schultz attended the University of North Texas where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. He then went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston.

He moved from Austin, TX to join the Marathon Family Dentistry team in 2018. Dr. Corey has practiced in multiple facets of general dentistry and continues to expand his knowledge and love of dentistry. His passion is rooted in treating each patient with respect and compassion, and going above and beyond to provide high-quality dental care.

Brittany has been with the Marathon Family Dentistry team since 2017. She loves working with and getting to know patients of all ages. Brittany currently lives in Edgar and in her spare time enjoys walking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Additionally, she enjoys baking and decorating cakes, cupcakes and cookies.

Julie has been a Dental Hygienist with Marathon Family Dentistry for 20 years. She is thankful for the relationships and mutual respect she has with her patients. She is also thankful to be part of a team that always puts the patient first. Outside of the office, Julie is a proud mom of Travis and Katie. Her interests include walking, snowmobiling and spending time with friends and family. She likes being involved in the community and is an active member of the Edgar Fire Department, serving as an EMT.

Mary has been part of the Marathon Family Dentistry team for 35 years. As a hygienist, Mary loves helping people feel great about their smile. She enjoys getting to know her patients and developing friendships with many of them.

Mary lives in Mosinee with her husband Jim. Together, they have three great kids and a growing family of grandchildren. When shes not at the office, Mary likes to garden, read, and spend time with her grandchildren.

Michelle has been a hygienist for 31 years and has been with our Marathon Family Dentistry team since 2013. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and teaching them how to take care of their teeth. She also enjoys getting to know her patients, which allows her to take even better care of them. When shes not at work, Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband of 29 years and their 5 children and grandchildren. The most rewarding part of her day is seeing patients want to show off their smile as theyre walking out of the office after having had their teeth cleaned.

Heather has been working as a dental assistant for over five years. Her favorite part about her career is helping patients achieve there ideal smiles. She feels that everyones dental experience should be a positive one, while having compassion and making patients feel comfortable is her number one priority. She knows that having a wonderful team to work with is the number onereason this office is so great! Heather is married to her husband Matt and currently lives in Mosinee. Outside of work she enjoys walking, crafting, camping, and spending time with family and friends.

Joni has been a Dental Assistant with Marathon Family Dentistry for 24 years. Joni is married to her husband Josh and has 2 children and 2 step-daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys the quiet company of her family and friends.

When Andrea isnt helping create smiles, she can be found valuing time with family and friends, enjoying excellent musical talent, and tending to her flower gardens. She lives in Marathon with her husband Mike of 25 years and their five children. Andrea has been with Marathon Family Dentistry for nine years as a schedule coordinator and front desk receptionist. She appreciates the strong relationships between coworkers and patients alike. She finds it rewarding knowing she plays a role in helping patients smile.

Corissa has been working in the dental field for 29 years and has been with the Marathon office for 14 years. She enjoys being able to dedicate herself to her patients and help them leave with a smile. Corissa lives in Marathon with her husband Russell, their three beautiful children Skylar, Sierra, and Jaron, and their chocolate lab Remi. Outside of the office, you will find Corissa attending her children's sporting events, traveling with family, spending days on the family pond, gardening and canning vegetables for the family.

Adental restorationordental fillingis adental restorative materialused to restore the function, integrity andmorphologyof missing tooth structure. The structural loss typically results fromcaries(tooth decay) or external trauma.

Many of our patients choose to have tooth-colored composite resin fillings placed. They are both more esthetic and bond better to a tooth than traditional amalgam fillings. While amalgams are certainly an acceptable material to use, we recommend resin for most situations.

A crown is placed to restore the function, integrity and shape of a tooth when too much has been lost to be replaced with a filling. The materials used for crowns includegold,porcelainfused to metal, porcelain fused to zirconia or zirconia alone. They all have their advantages and disadvantages. The amount and type of reduction done to the tooth to prepare it for a crown varies slightly with the different materials used.

A bridge is fabricated by reducing the teeth on either side of the missing tooth or teeth similarly to what is done for a single crown. In other words, the abutment teeth are reduced in size to accommodate the material to be used to restore the size and shape of the original teeth in a correct alignment and contact with the opposing teeth.

Root canal therapy is a sequence of treatment for the Pulp (nerves)of aTooth which results in the elimination of infection and protection of the decontaminated tooth from future bacterialinvasion. This set of procedures is commonly referred to as a Root canal. The root canaland its associatedPulp chamber are the physical hollows within a tooth that are naturally inhabited bynerve tissue and blood vessels. Root canal therapy involves theremovalof these structures, the subsequent shaping, cleaning, and decontamination of the hollows with tiny files and irrigating solutions, and theobturation(filling) of the decontaminated canals with an inert filling.

Wisdom teeth are the four third molars, often our four back-most erupted teeth. When these teeth are impacted, or fall below our gum line, bad things can result, such as pain, infection, damage to the bone support for adjacent teeth, cavities on adjacent teeth due to inability to clean around the wisdom teeth, and in rare occasions, tumors and cysts in the mouth.

When you are missing a tooth, or about to have one extracted, a dental implant is an excellent option to replace that tooth. An implant is an artificial tooth root, made of biocompatible titanium, placed into the jaw bone, on top of which a new tooth is placed. Implants can also be utilized to replace multiple missing teeth with a bridge and can also be used to anchor a denture in place.

Plaque is a sticky film of bacteria. Some of it causes cavities. Other bacteria in that film can slowly dissolve the area under your gum tissue and cause periodontal disease, also called gum disease. Regular brushing and flossing breaks up this film. However, if it is allowed to grow under the gums, the area where your gums meet your tooth and the supporting bone is slowly dissolved. That area of dissolved bone can be visible on x-rays and is one of the things we look for during your recall visits. In most cases, gum disease is not painful, unlike a cavity. In fact, one of the few signs you may notice is bleeding when flossing or a foul taste from your gums. Treatment for this is not having your teeth cleaned every six months. A more focused procedure, called scaling and root planning, is done to help treat this disease. Our good care in the office, coupled with good care at home by you, can help maintain your teeth for your lifetime.
