Dr. Michele Olson grew up in Fessenden, ND and received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Chemistry at North Dakota State University. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota and worked as a general dentist prior returning to the University of Minnesota where she earned a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. She also completed a fellowship in Leadership and Education in Neurodevelopmental Disability through the University of Minnesota. Dr. Michele is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, and the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry. She is a clinical director of Special Smiles for Special Olympics and the faculty advisor for the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry Student Chapter.
Dr. Michele and her husband have two children and enjoy all things outdoor including hunting, fishing and camping. She enjoys volunteering at her church and the community and hopes to continue to be an advocate for all children regarding access to oral health care.
His practice philosophies will continue to be upheld by Dr. Claire and Dr. Michele. His legendary quote will continue to resonate in the walls at MapleTree Pediatric Dentistry Behind a childs every action is a feeling. Never deny or ignore a childs feelings.
Dr. Tiana Barsness grew up in Glenwood, MN and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Health Sciences from the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She then went on to obtain a Graduate Certificate in Public Health Education before completing her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota. She earned a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, MN and is a Board Eligible Pediatric Dentist. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and the Minnesota Dental Association.
I am passionate about prevention, education and positive dental experiences. I want to be an advocate for all patients and strive to continually provide the highest level of care for your child in a safe, comfortable and compassionate environment.

In the years we've been coming to Maplewood Pediatric Dentistry, every staff member has been so sweet, knowledge and extremely gifted in working with kids of all ages. My kids get excited when it's time to see the dentist!

We've been bringing our younger kids here since they were tiny. The best pediatric dentist in town- they are so good with all ages from toddlers to teenagers. Kind, caring, organized, clean and excellent dentistry. I wish we had known about them sooner so our oldest would have had them his whole life.

We have been taking our children to MapleTree Pediatric Dentistry for several years. We were there today with our 3 and 5 year old for their cleaning/check up and were reminded just how fabulous they are! Each and every time we are in for an appointment the staff goes above and beyond to put our children at ease. Today both hygienists were thorough and kind. Dr Michelle is always incredibly patient, caring, and knowledgeable. We love MapleTree and would recommend to any and everyone!

I absolutely love this place! I have a pretty anxious 3 year old who is hesitant about any and all medical appointments, but she loves going to the dentist here! Shelley is an absolute angel of a hygienist and Dr Tiana & Dr Claire have both been so kind and patient with both of my girls (3yo & 15mos). They never make the girls do anything they aren't comfortable with and are very accommodating, warm & friendly. I will come here forever!

My two boys love going to this dentist. Dr. Michele has been wonderful with my son who has sensory issues. He is now comfortable and confident going to the dentist. It's actually amazing.

My kids seriously get excited to go to the Dentist here!! All the Staff are so positive and welcoming. The clinic is so clean and fun. It's clear from the moment you walk in that this place was created with children in mind. Every room provides something for the children to engage with and feel comfortable.

Both of our sons have gone here since their first appointments. Everyone is over the top friendly and comforting. Shelley is amazing and basically puts on a show to make sure your child feels safe and comfortable.

I thought waiting until my second visit to write a review would be helpful. Was my first experience too good to be true? Now I know that the quality care, friendliness, and overall fantastic experience I had during my first visit, wasn't just MapleTree on a good day. It's their norm. I cannot give enough praise. Dr. Michele and her team are miracle workers. Watching my 5 YO and 3 YO actually ENJOY their visit was a weight lifted off my shoulders. They asked if they could go back the next day :) 1000 gold stars is my rating for MapleTree Pediatric Dentistry.

I came in with my 4yo son and 2 yo daughter for the first time at MapleTree Pediatric Dentistry and was blown away at the patience and creativity to make going to the dentist such a positive experience. Shelly, our hygienist was AMAZING! She showed my 4yo son all the dental equipment which he loved and she really knew how to talk to kids so that they understood what was going on to gain trust. Our dentist, Michelle was also amazing. The office is so kid friendly. I can't recommend enough!

This place is amazing! My daughter is 5 and has some sensory and anxiety issues, and needed a filling. Our previous dentist was recommending sedation because my daughter was not comfortable letting them attempt the filling. I wasn't sold on that being the best option so decided to try again somewhere else. The staff here built a great rapport with my daughter and made her feel comfortable. They could tell when to push a little and when to back off and distract her for a moment. They kept her engaged and focused and had no problems getting the filling done. I am so thankful for them and the care they put into their patients. I will be switching my other kiddo here as well!
