Dr. Robert R. DesRoches Jr. is a Spokane native and has over twenty years of experience in dentistry. He is a well-respected dentist in the Inland Northwest community and has the expertise and knowledge for all of your dental needs.
Dr. Robert DesRoches was born on an Air Force base in Michigan but was raised locally in Medical Lake, where he attended school K-12. He graduated with a biology degree from EWU in 1992 and then graduated from Northwestern School of Dentistry in Chicago in 1998. Spokane is definitely home but be sure to ask him about Chicagos Italian beef sandwiches and the fireflies in the Midwest.
Dr. DesRoches continues his education with many hours of seminars and lectures, including an extensive program at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute (LVI) and participation in the Spokane Study Club. Additionally, Dr. DesRoches is certified in Forensic Odontology and works with the Medical Examiners Office as part of the Eastern Washington Dental ID Team. He is also actively serving in the Army Reserves as a Dental Officer. Dr. DesRoches professional goal is to continue to offer state-of-the-art dentistry to provide optimal aesthetic and reconstructive care for his patients. When Dr. DesRoches is not busy providing excellent dental care, he is spending time with his family, camping, fly fishing, and being an active coach in a variety of sports for his children.
Dr. Michelle Olmstead is a 1999 graduate of Marquette University Dental School in Milwaukee, WI. Prior to dental school, Dr. Olmstead attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. In November 1999, she opened a private practice in Liberty Lake.
Dr. Olmstead provides full service general dentistry and also specializes in cosmetic dental reconstruction and lip augmentation. Skill, compassion, and a genuine concern for her patients have earned Dr. Olmstead recognition as a role model in her chosen profession. She is a proud member of the Washington Dental Society, a member of Doctors Organization of Conscious Sedation (DOCS), is trained in Dentox (Botox for Dentistry), and has hospital privileges at Sacred Heart Medical Center to accommodate her patients with dental phobia.
Dr. Scott Hager is a Spokane native. He earned his Bachelors of Science in biology from Gonzaga University in 2006. He relocated to the Midwest to attend Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, NE and earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Upon graduation, he brought his education and knowledge back to the Northwest, and, in 2010, began working in a private practice setting as an associate in Post Falls. He is excited to bring his experience back to his home state and looks forward to providing an exceptional dental experience to his patients.
Dr. Hager holds dual licensure in both Washington and Idaho and is a member of both the Washington and Idaho State Dental Associations, American Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Hager enjoys all the possibilities and aspects offered by the field of dentistry, but truly loves advancing his knowledge in more advanced procedures, ranging from extractions to gum tissue regeneration techniques. In his free time, he enjoys exercise, sporting events, and other outdoor recreational activities. He is also a huge Gonzaga fan and loves watching basketball and mixed martial arts.
Dr Jacob Kerst was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. He graduated from Gonzaga Preparatory School in 1986, before going on to The University of Puget Sound. At UPS Dr Kerst did research in Chemistry and was NAIA Academic All American for Football. Dr Kerst received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. After Creighton, Dr Kerst practiced general and cosmetic dentistry in downtown Seattle. Was voted by his colleagues to one of the Top Seattle Dentists, Seattle Magazine, multiple years, and was awarded Best Seattle Dentist four years in a row by the Seattle Weekly. Dr Kerst has also done extensive training at some of the top Aesthetic Dental Centers in the country including the Las Vegas Institute for Aesthetic Dentistry. Dr Kerst focuses on functional aesthetic dentistry. That is, dentistry that works lasts but is highly aesthetic. Full mouth reconstruction and anterior porcelain veneer cases are his favorite. Dr Kerst is trained in the treatment of TMD, Temporal Mandibular Dysfunction, with Botox injections

I had a routine exam, everyone who works here is so nice! Very welcoming! The hygienist and DR spent lots of time suggesting solutions to problems that I have. Problems I never even knew had solutions! They even suggested cheap alternative solutions. I've never had such an involved dental office!

Took 6 hours to clean and do fillings on half of my mouth and was still left with a large hole (one of the main reasons for being there) and 2 of the fillings fell out within a week. Then when I told them I would not be coming back in for the other side, another 6 hour appointment, the person on the phone got angry with me.

THEY ARE THE BEST DENTIST. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO GIVE THEM A CALL. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL CROWNS DONE. THEY ARE FRIENDLY AND AFFORDABLE ACCEPTING MOST INSURANCE.

I am a new patient of Maple Street Family Dentistry. My husband has been a patient for about a year and has had wonderful experiences. I came in with some health needs requiring dental. From Tia at the front desk to Dr DesRoches I have had such compassionate care. There was some urgency to being seen and everyone did all they could to get me in on a timely basis to correspond with other necessary treatment. It is always wonderful to be treated well but when health needs are present it is extra special. Thank you everyone at MDFD.

I have had a long past of dental horror stories, so I was not relaxed the first time I came here. Not only were they kind, but they were incredibly gentle and truly cared about my comfort. I was petrified about getting my first fillings, and these amazing people made it an incredibly relieving experience. I've never felt so good about making a visit to the dentist than when I come here.

I took my 94-yr-old father in yesterday. The entire staff was courteous, professional and kind. Dad has not been to a dentist in over a decade. Hannah did a wonderful job of taking his medical history, doing x-rays, etc. And, Dr. DesRoches clearly and thoughtfully let Dad know his options (for dentures, etc.).

The staff and the dentist are very friendly. They thoroughly check my cheese and then went over the X-rays with my wife and I. This is my third visit over span of a year and each time I'm very impressed with the whole dentist office.

I have been going to Maple Street for 3 years now. I was happy when they got a dentist who was interested in staying put. The whole staff is terrific!! Friendly, caring and professional. Just had 2 crowns and 2 fillings done this summer along with cleaning and xrays. I don't like going to the dentist, but Dr DesRoches and his staff are super and make me comfortable! I would recommend anyone looking for a good dentist to this practice.
