Dr. Olsen began his dental career in 1985 in northern Utah. He completed his undergraduate studies at Utah State University prior to receiving his degree of Doctorate of Dental Science from Northwestern University.
After visiting his sister in Davidson, he fell in love with the area. He thought this would be a great place to start a new practice. So, in 2005, he and his lovely wife, Missy moved to Huntersville to begin another chapter of their life.
He is an active member of The American Dental Association and The North Carolina Dental Association. His membership in these organizations, as well as his completion of several advanced cosmetic dentistry courses, has allowed him to remain current on the most beneficial and cutting edge dental treatments.
Dr. Olsen is well known by his patients for being a kind and considerate dentist. He cares for them with respect for their individual needs and concerns. Throughout his 25 years in the dental field, Dr. Olsen has developed a reputation for paying close attention to detail and providing patients with the highest quality care. His gentle and calm disposition ensures patients have an excellent experience when they visit the dental office.
Dr. Michael Humphries is a Charlotte native that joined Maple Springs Dental in June of 2021. He received his bachelors degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and then completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine where he graduated with honors. He has received extensive training in all aspects of dentistry and is passionate about improving the oral health of his patients.
Dr. Humphries is an active member of both the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Society. He recognizes that dentistry is a profession that requires a lifelong pursuit of current science and technologies and he continually strives to improve the care he provides to his patients.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Humphries enjoys being outdoors and loves keeping his hands busy. He enjoys traveling, fishing, hiking/camping, wood working, playing the piano, and spending the majority of his free time with his wife Kelci and their dog Stevie.
Dr. Humphries speaks Spanish fluently and his patients describe him as gentle, friendly, and professional. His compassion and easy-going nature are attributes that serve his patients well and he is excited to be a member of the Maple Springs Dental family.

Dr. Brandon Morales joined Maple Springs Dental in August of 2020. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology from California Polytechnic State University of Pomona in 2015. He then continued his education by attending Midwestern University Dental School in Arizona and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2020. Dr. Morales is Invisalign certified with clinical experience in many aspects of general dentistry including Crown and Bridge, Tooth Colored Fillings, Extractions, Dental Implant Therapy and Root Canal Therapy.
Dr. Morales and his fiancee, Brianna relocated to the Charlotte area after his graduation. Their journey to North Carolina started after a trip through Raleigh and Asheville during his time in Dental School and knew right away it was where they wanted to call home. They are very excited to settle down and start a family in an area that allows them to experience all four seasons and be around forests and lakes. They have two dogs, a foxhound and a corgi that they spend a lot of their free time with. They are also avid sports fans and look forward to cheering on the Carolina Hurricanes.
Professionally, Dr. Morales is an active member of the American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry. He is a first-generation dentist and appreciates how dentistry allows him to help his patients while building lifelong relationships. Dr. Morales strives for an exceptional dental experience for each patient. He listens to his patients needs and concerns in order to allow him to deliver quality dental treatment that is focused on each patients specific needs to maintain and/or improve their oral health.
Dr. Vivian Nguyen is a graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Cum Laude honors in 2017. She graduated with a Doctorate in Dental Medicine in 2021 while receiving the Community Dentistry and Dental Public Health award from the American Association of Public Health Dentistry. She is originally a native of Greenville, NC. Dr. Nguyen has been trained in various rural ECU dental clinics located throughout NC including Sylva, Elizabeth City, and Davidson County.
Dr. Nguyen is interested in giving back to the people of North Carolina, which brought her to Statesville. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Public Health Dentistry, NC Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. She believes it is important to stay educated on the ever-changing advancements in dentistry through CE courses and connecting with colleagues.
Dr. Nguyen enjoys talking to patients about their dental goals and coming up with a strong plan to help patients meet those goals. She is interested in building trust with patients and providing comprehensive care with comfort. Outside of dentistry, Dr Nguyen likes to try new restaurants, watch TV shows, cook new recipes, learn sewing, and travel. She loves her parents, younger sister, and golden-chow mix dearly. Dr. Nguyen believes that dental visits do not have to be scary. She looks forward to working with the Statesville community every day, and cannot wait to work with you!

Tammy was great at performing my cleaning. Daniella was excellent at explaining my terms and potential coverage. The doctor and nurse were great also. I would recommend them and will continue my dental plan with Maple Springs dental.

Great experience! I definitely recommend them. I went in for a cleaning and they did not hurt my teeth. The dental assistant made sure to thoroughly clean my teeth and she was very friendly. The dentist was great as well and I did not feel pressured to get anything I did not want. I am pleased with my first time visit here.

If I could recommend a Dentistry to anyone, this would definitely be the place! All of the staff were extremely kind. Everyone explained each process thoroughly where it was easy to understand what was going on. I typically have trouble with the x-ray portion always being uncomfortable but this time it wasn't at all. Dr. Humphries is fantastic. He caught on right away I was uncomfortable with a portion of my examine and stopped immediately. If you don't have dental insurance, they have a membership plan that is incredibly helpful and worth it. This is the dentist for me!

I believe I've finally found a dentist I can trust. They did a root canal for my daughter that every other "dentist" was trying to refer us to a specialist for. They are real dentists and they seem to have our best interest at heart. AND they work directly with our insurance even though they are out of network. Just an all around great experience. I'll be bringing my whole family in and trusting them to care for our teeth moving forward.

The practice is very focused on good patient care. From the first moment it was obvious they didn't want you to have to wait. The hygenist was thoroughly professional & explained the x-rays & showed them to me. Dr. Humphries checked them as well. He also said that he is usually the on-call dentist & can come in in an after-hours emergency. Unheard of! I am new to town & am delighted to have found this place!

Was just there yesterday, August 23rd, 2022. A very professional and friendly, caring staff. They all work together well! I was in very quickly and everything was explained to me and I was shown my x-rays. Dr. Humphries did my cleaning and was very gentle and confident. My teeth feel so clean. A very nice office, well decorated and very engaged and caring staff. Will send others to this dental practice. Thanks for the good conversation too!!

I really enjoyed by visit at Maple Springs Dental, everyone who worked there had a great attitude and you could tell they all had a great working relationship. As a new patient I appreciated having everything explained to me during the x-ray and examine process, I even received recommendations for daily care that I had never received in the past. I truly felt that I was well taken care of, especially when Dr. Humphries walked through all of the x-ray photos with me and made sure all my questions were answered. I even left with an awesome new patient swag bag! I highly recommend this place!

I love how Maple Springs offers all my dental needs in one office. I don't have t go to a specialist. They offer cleaning, filling cavities, crowns, extractions, implants, whitening ect. all in one office. How convenient!! Which saves me so much time. I just had an implant and Dr. Humphries was fantastic! I had absolutely no pain. He made the whole process very comfortable. The front office personnel are very professional and helpful with all your insurance needs. I highly recommend Maple Springs Dental!

If I could give these dental offices 10 stars I would. I had recently been to another dental office here in Charlotte where my visit was horrible. I had left out of that office in more pain than when I'd arrived (heck, I wasn't even in pain when I'd arrived). After realizing something was wrong I decided to get a second opinion, so I stopped by the Mint Hill location where Dr. Humphries saw me. Extremely patient and bedside manner were A-Plus. Dr. Humphries saw me another time after I stopped by the office twice more because the pain hadn't subsided. Twice he issued pain medication & antibiotics because I was severe pain. The previous dental office hadn't offered anything. A few days later yet again I needed to be seen due to this same pain, and though Dr. Humphries had me scheduled out to return he saw me once more. He patiently looked over my mouth and thought he would sent me to a Orthodontic to remove a wisdom tooth. Right before making that decision Dr. Humphries says "let me try one more test". He explained to me he didn't want to send me to an Orthodontic to have the wisdom tooth remove and that wasn't the issue. He then used air on the tooth infront of the one I had recently had work done on by previous office visited. This indeed was the problematic tooth. He immediately asked his office staff (Sherill Ford location) to call all Orthodontic to see if they could get me in that day!!! That was an AWESOME suggestion even though they weren't able to locate any office that was able to make that accommodation. So I was scheduled to return back a few days later because I was headed out of state for a few days. When I returned I saw Dr. Olsen who was just as Awesome. Wonderful bedside manner and extremely knowledgeable. He performed the root canal on the molar while training another doctor. When I tell you my experience from day one of walking into the Mint Hill office until I finished up at the Sherill Ford office was AWESOME!!! I will forever promote Maple Springs Dental and will forever be a patient.
