Many dentists agree that when it comes to tooth replacement options, dental implants are the superior choice. And by and large, patients who choose dental implants are happy with the results. So why arent dental implants the first choice for most patients? The truth is, many patients default to partial or complete dentures or bridges to replace missing teeth, not because they dont know dental implants are an option, but because they assume that dental implants wont be affordable for them. Our office also has financing options that can make dental implants affordable.

While it may be true that the up-front costs of dental implants are higher than some other tooth replacement options, that fact misses part of the story. Dentures and bridges come with some hidden costs that dont apply to dental implants. For example, dentures require you to buy a case to store them in, special cleansers for cleaning them, and adhesive to keep them in place. While these arent expensive items, when you consider the cost of buying these items repeatedly over the years, you may be surprised at how much it adds up.

Dentures and bridges can also become damaged or worn out over time. Dental bridges have a lifespan of five to fifteen years, and dentures have a lifespan of around five to ten years. At some point, these devices will need to be replaced. And dentures may need to be adjusted, relined, or repaired before theyre eventually replaced. In the case of dental bridges, they can also be damaging to the adjacent teeth. This means that while they might cost less up front, they can lead to even more dental workand therefore, more costs down the road.

Dental implants require no special careyou simply brush and floss as you would with your natural teeth. Theyre also a permanent solution. They wont need to be replaced or repaired as long as you take care of them and avoid mouth injuries. And they dont cause damage to any adjacent natural teeth. Taking all costs into account and spreading them out over the rest of your lifetime, its likely that dental implants are the most cost-effective option.

If youve been looking into tooth replacement options for yourself, youve probably learned some of the basic facts about dental implants. For example, you may know that dental implants consist of a titanium post that is anchored to your jaw bone, a tooth-shaped crown, and an abutment that holds the crown to the titanium post. You may also know that dental implants look and function just like natural teeth and that no one but your dentist will know you have them. But there are probably still things that you dont know about dental implants. Below are some facts that may surprise you.

Ideally, you would keep your natural teeth for the rest of your life, but when that cant happen, you want a durable tooth replacement option. However, most tooth replacement options are not permanent. A bridge, for example, is only as healthy as the teeth around it-it will need to be replaced if one of the teeth on either side of the bridge is damaged. And a bridge tends to put pressure on the teeth around it, so damage is almost inevitable. Dentures also arent permanent-over time, theyll become worn or need to be adjusted or replaced as your mouth changes shape. Dental implants, however, are a permanent tooth replacement option. Theyre anchored into place, and will only need to be removed if they become damaged or in rare cases of dental implant failure. As long as you take care of your dental implants, the way that you would take care of your natural teeth, youll have them for the rest of your life.

I am a new patient to Maple Avenue Family Dentistry and my experience was excellent. I was seated within 5 minutes of checking in. Office is clean and modern looking. My hygienist was gentle and explained everything she was doing. Dr. Barone came in to do a final check on me. The office location is convenient to me on the East Bay. Highly recommend.

I am a new patient to Maple Avenue Family Dentistry. I came for a cleaning and X-rays. The check in and new patient paperwork was quick and easy. My hygienist explained the process and made me feel comfortable. She also shared with me how to take better care of my teeth. I enjoyed the office environment as it was clean and bright with lots of windows. I highly recommend.

Do not go! After spending 5 years at this practice. I need much of Dr. Andrea Barone's work replaced. He recessed my implant crown, so much, there is no occlusion. No point in it being there. I need a new Dentist. This one is Reprehensible!! Peter the dental hygienist, was good. Maple Avenue Dentistry- Barrington, RI- I just read your comment- 5 years and thousands of dollars, tell a different story, the horrific pain since my implant with you, The burning in my entire mouth since October 4, 2021. Unconscionable!

Great dental office. Very clean. Excellent staff from the receptionist to the doctor. My dental hygienist, Peter, was very thorough and did an excellent job cleaning my teeth. I hadn't been to the dentist in many years due to a bad experience at another practice, and Peter was so kind and understanding and kept me calm. Dr. G also spent a lot of time discussing procedures with me. Overall I was very pleased with this dental practice.

I just want to commend all the staff in the office for their excellent care and professionalism. I have been lucky to connect with this office for my dental care. Dr. Barone, my general dentist and Dr. Beylin, his associate endodontist, as well as all the dental assistants and office staff at Maple Avenue Family Dentistry have been wonderful to work with. Their thoughtfulness and expertise take the pain out of these procedures and put one at ease!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!

Ive been a patient at Maple Avenue Family Dentistry for more years than i can count. I have had a complicated procedure performed by both Dr Buffard and Dr Underwood who had to work together on my case and the results were great. I regularly see the hygienist, Peter, who jokes about his OCD but it results in him being overly thorough with me. I cant fault that because it results in him not quitting until he thinks its perfect, not because my time is up. Can't ask for better service.

Thank you Dr Barone and staff for always taking good care of me. I have been a patient for 10+ years and Dr Barone and his staff have always been so kind and welcoming. I just finished having an implant crown placed and I couldn't be happier to have my smile back! Dr Barone is very caring and walked me through the process. If you are looking for a new dental practice, I would recommend his practice to anyone.

There was a delay in filling my antibiotic prescription that was needed for an infected tooth. Jeanette not only called the pharmacy here in Maryland to facilitate, she followed up by calling me to make certain the Rx. was filled. Brava to her and Maple Avenue Family Dentistry! THANK YOU!!

Went here for over 20 years, since I was a child, not anymore though. I've had a few problems with the automated scheduling and after this last one I am frankly done. I scheduled an appointment months out. A month or so before my appointment I confirmed via email and got a follow up email as well. Two days before my appointment I get an email saying they will be closed for the next two days for renovations. I received no communication about this prior- no emails voicemails absolutely nothing. The woman at the front desk blamed me entirely for their lack of communication, was rude, not helpful, and frankly very mean. She did not even try to help me find another appointment simply yelled at me, told me to calm down, and listed days they said they called me. But again I got zero voicemails or emails explaining the situation. I went through my phone records and matched a few phone calls to their number but it did not come up as a dentist office and again zero voicemails. When she claimed they called and left me a message that day offering me a new appointment I said I was confused because I only got a text with no explanation. Seeing as I caught her in a lie she began to yell at me even more. Truly one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever dealt with. Absolutely do not recommend.
