Care Resource is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with four (4) locations located in Midtown Miami, Little Havana, Miami Beach, and Fort Lauderdale. We provide compassionate, competent, and committed healthcare and support services to address the full health care needs of our pediatric, adolescent and adult populations.
Community Research Initiative (CRI) is founded and pioneers the implementation of community-based clinical trials through its network of physicians across Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Virtually all of the popular anti-retroviral drugs widely used today have been studied by the health center through its clinical research program.
Primary medical care is implemented with funding from the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program creating a system to rapidly and effectively triage those identified as HIV positive into a comprehensive system for medical care and supportive services.
Adds another Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) site in Miami Beach, creating a third location for its outreach and operations to the community. Additionally, the first on-site Care Resource Walgreens Pharmacy opens in Miami Dade and Broward County under the 340B program.
The Joint Commission certifies Care Resource as Primary Care Medical Home, a model of care that puts patients at the forefront of care. Ambulatory Health Care Accreditation received from The Joint Commission for the health centers continued provision of safe, high-quality care and services.
Care Resource opens a medical facility in Little Havana serving individuals living in the areas of Little Havana, Shenandoah, Little Gables, North Coral Gables, Historic Coral Way and the City of Miami.
Care Resource begins providing pediatric care in Miami Dade and Broward Counties to include well-child care; pediatric hearing, vision, and dental care, immunizations, routine health screenings, adolescent care, and adolescent behavioral health services. Additionally, The White Party fundraiser celebrates its 30th Anniversary.
Care Resource became accredited by The Joint Commission for its Behavioral Health (BH), recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organizations commitment to meeting certain performance standards.
Care Resource Implements the Test and Treat Program, in partnership with the Department of Health of Broward County, to provide same-day access to a doctor and HIV medication to newly diagnosed individuals and those previously diagnosed but who fell out of care.
Care Resource is recognized as a Health Center Quality Leader exceeding national clinical quality benchmarks (including Healthy People 2020 goals) for chronic disease management and preventive care. Additionally, AIDS Walk Miami enters its 30th year.
Care Resource is recognized as a Center of Excellence for LGBT Care by the Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) in policies and practices related to the equity and inclusion of LGBTQ patients, visitors and employees. Additionally, Care Resource implements the Test and Treat Rapid Access Program in Miami-Dade County, in partnership with the local Health Department.
On Tuesday, June 18, 2019, the City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez and Commissioner Ken Russell officiate over the groundbreaking ceremony transforming Care Resources existing 22,000 square foot two-story building into a 55,000 square foot, seven-story state-of-the-art community health center.
Care Resource maintains quality services, enhances access to healthcare, and protects patients and staff via expansion of telehealth services and onsite safety measures in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Emergency Assistance Fund established for emergency needs of patients during COVID-19 global pandemic, including food vouchers, rental and mortgage assistance, and at-home HIV testing.
Care Resources renovated and expanded Midtown Miami Health Center reopens, bringing innovative, integrated, and high-quality healthcare to historically underinvested or underrepresented communities throughout Miami-Dade County.
