A native of Huntington, West Virginia, Dr. Manilla received his undergraduate degree in biology from West Virginia University and his doctorate of dental surgery from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry. He continued his dental studies to complete a specialty certification in pediatric dentistry from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Manilla then pursued a second specialty in orthodontics, earning a masters degree in orthodontia from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry, where he was awarded an academic fellowship. He also has served as an instructor in pediatric dentistry at Case Western Reserves Dental School.
