Mangum Park Dentistry For Children - Pediatric dentist in Houston, TX

Dr. Cho was born in South Korea and immigrated with his family at 6 years of age and grew up in Grinnell, Iowa and Lincoln, Nebraska. Following graduation with a B.S. degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University, he obtained his DDS degree at the University of Southern California (USC) and completed his specialty Pediatric Dentistry training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He received Board Certification in Pediatric Dentistry from American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Cho has been practicing pediatric dentistry since 2009. He has practiced in a busy pediatric dental practice in Peoria, Illinois and in Fremont, Nebraska before moving to Houston in 2015. He has participated and lead dental mission trips to Guatemala, Mexico and El Salvador for many years through Christian Medical Dental Association. He is a member at Hope Church in Jersey Village.

Dr. Cho 's career path in dentistry and specifically to pediatric dentistry is by God 's providence and grace. His goal and mission in life is to worship Jesus Christ to providing best care for his patients as if they were his own children, and to continue to be a 'learner/student' of pediatric dentistry.

He enjoys reading books along with his coffee, working out, playing golf, traveling, enjoying good food with good company, spending time with family, and volunteering in outreach projects and mission trips. He hopes to continue with these mission trips. Dr. Cho has Christian worldview and values, a very friendly demeanor and has the patients best interest in mind.

Pediatric dentists (or pedodontists) are qualified to meet the dental needs of infants, toddlers, school-age children, and adolescents. Pediatric dentists are required to undertake an additional two or three years of child-specific training after fulfilling dental school requirements.

Pediatric dentistry offices are colorful, fun, and child-friendly. Dental phobias are often rooted in childhood, so it is essential that the child feel comfortable, safe, and trusting of the dentist from the outset.

Prevention Tooth decay is the most prevalent childhood ailment. Fortunately, it is almost completely preventable. Aside from providing advice and guidance relating to home care, the pediatric dentist can apply sealants and fluoride treatments to protect tooth enamel and minimize the risk of cavities.

Early detection Examinations, X-rays, and computer modeling allow the pediatric dentist to predict future oral problems. Examples include malocclusion (bad bite), attrition due to grinding (bruxism), and jaw irregularities. In some cases, optimal outcomes are best achieved by starting treatment early.

Treatment Pediatric dentists offer a wide range of treatments. Aside from preventative treatments (fluoride and sealant applications), the pediatric dentist also performs pulp therapy and treats oral trauma. If primary teeth are lost too soon, space maintainers may be provided to ensure the teeth do not become misaligned.

Education Education is a major part of any pediatric practice. Not only can the pediatric dentist help the child understand the importance of daily oral care, but parents can also get advice on toothpaste selection, diet, thumb-sucking cessation, and a wide range of related topics.

Updates Pediatric dentists are well informed about the latest advances in the dentistry field. For example, Xylitol (a naturally occurring sugar substitute) has recently been shown to protect young teeth against cavities, tooth decay, and harmful bacteria. Children who do not see the dentist regularly may miss out on both beneficial information and information about new diagnostic procedures.

(Translated by Google) MY EXPERIENCE WAS NOT GOOD, I DECIDED NOT TO GIVE MY DAUGHTER GAS FOR HER TREATMENT AND AS I DIDN'T ACCEPT, AND I DIDN'T SIGN THEY WENT WITHOUT MY CONSENT TO THE WAITING ROOM WHERE MY HUSBAND WAS WAITING FOR ME TO SIGN AND SO THEY COLLECTED WHAT IT WAS NEVER AUTHORIZED. ALL FOR FILLING THEIR POCKETS WITHOUT KNOWING IF THAT COULD CAUSE SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY DAUGHTER. AND ALSO PASS OVER MY AUTHORITY. I WILL TALK ABOUT THIS WITH MY INSURANCE DAUGHTER . THE FORMS TO BE COMPLETED ARE NOT AVAILABLE IN SPANISH ANOTHER POINT IS AGAINST YOU. (Original) NO FUE BUENA MI EXPERIENCIA, DECIDI QUE NO LE PUSIERAN EL GAS A MI HIJA PARA SU TRATAMIENTO Y COMO NO ACEPTE, Y NO FIRME FUERON SIN MI CONSENTIMIENTO A LA SALA DE ESPERA DONDE ESTABA MI ESPOSO ESPERANDOME PARA QUE FIRMARA Y ASI ELLOS COBRAR LO QUE NUNCA SE AUTORIZO . TODO POR LLENARSE SUS BOLSILLOS SIN SABER SI ESO PODIA OCASIONARLE ALGO MAL A MI HIJA. Y ADEMAS PASAR SOBRE MI AUTORIDAD. HABLARE SOBRE ESTO CON LA ASEGURANZA DE MI HIJA . LAS FORMAS A LLENAR NO ESTAN DISPONIBLES EN ESPANOL OTRO PUNTO EN SU CONTRA.

(Translated by Google) They do insurance fraud. Review all the clauses well before signing and accepting and if you cannot speak English, you have the right to demand forms in Spanish. To get a good insurance payout, they cheat people and if you don't accept the terms the staff gets upset. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE (Original) Hacen fraude con las aseguranzas.

The staff here are very nice and welcoming but the doctor Mr. Cho needs an attitude check. I tried to give this man the benefit of the doubt by coming back but his attitude remains the same. He's nice at first and once you don't agree with his desired treatment plan his attitude changes. I understand that putting a child to sleep might be more desirable for your pocket but when I say it's not an option for me you should be okay with that. I shouldn't have to be intimidated by your attitude to choose what you want me to do. You also shouldn't belittle people just because they ask questions once you've began to feel some type of way. All I was trying to do was educate myself because obviously that isn't my profession and you want to talk to me like I'm ignorant. I'm firm on the decisions that I make for my children and so should everyone else that goes there. Don't be intimated by this man just because he holds a title. I don't recommend anyone coming here to a doctor that isn't compassionate and understanding with his own patients. I can't imagine what's it's like working for him. Stay away you've been warned!
