J. Brett Mangum, DDS is a 2001 graduate of the University of Michigans School of Dentistry. His career includes residency training in General Dentistry, military training and dental experience in the Navy that culminated with a deployment to Iraq in 2004 to 2005 as an officer in charge of a mobile dental team.
Dr. Mangum is a recipient of the Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentists and completed and Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at the Naval Dental Center of the Southwest in 2002.
James M. Ransdell, DDS is a 2005 graduate of Marquette University School of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Academy of General Dentistry and the Spear Education Faculty Club.
When not working, Dr. Ransdell enjoys spending time with his wife, Kristin and their six boys. He is a family man who enjoys mountain biking, off-road motorcycling and reading. He is a fun-loving person who makes everyone feel welcome around him.
Dr. Mitchell Grimmer is the newest addition to the Mangum Dental family. He is a 2017 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and received his bachelors degree in biology at Brigham Young University. He has just moved from his home state of Virginia to be closer to his wifes family here in Arizona. Dr. Grimmer believes in creating a strong rapport based on mutual trust and respect. He prides himself on his bedside manner and delivering the gentlest care possible. He appreciates the cosmetic and artistic side of dentistry including his composite veneer layering technique. Most of all, he enjoys restoring a persons smile and confidence.
When not at work, Dr. Grimmer loves to spend time with his wife and 3 girls. Hes excited to explore, with them, the outdoor life that Prescott has to offer. He also enjoys weightlifting, obstacle course racing, gymnastics, cookie decorating, and playing classical piano.

I am a new patient to Mangum Dental. My previous Dentist (who has retired) referred me. I am very anxious when I go for a dental visit. I got to meet with Dr Ransdell for a consult. He was very kind and understanding about my anxiety. He was professional. He answered all of my questions. He reduced my nervousness. When it was time for my filling, he explained the procedure step by step, as he worked on my teeth. He was gentle and he took his time to work with me. I am grateful to be able to visit Mangum Dental for my preventative care and for those dental visits that need a little bit more attention.

Was having major pain in my jaw due to a bad rotting tooth and they were able to get squeeze me in, in-between to other appointments the next day. Absolutely love Dr. Mangum, I had his father as a dentist when I was a kid and now him. The staff is just lovely and so caring! Thank you for giving me the best care out there!!

Hey! It's a great place for dental cleaning and tooth repair. I've been going here for years without any problems. The staff is excellent, friendly, and professional. They have modern equipment like digital x-rays and ultrasonic picks.

I liked this place the moment I entered the door. All the folks were friendly, kind and professional. Dr. Brett is very personable and we enjoyed a chat. My exam was thorough and I felt confident with their diagnosis. A great impression for my first visit there!

Great experience at Mangum Dental last week! I had to have a tooth extraction due to resorption issues. A bone graft was to follow after the extraction to prepare for a dental implant in the near future. I was so nervous and stressed, as it had been almost 40 years since I had a tooth pulled. Dr. Brett Mangum and his assistant we're absolutely wonderful, and they both continued to tell jokes to keep my mind focused on something other than my tooth. Thank you for helping me through a scary and stressful time! Dr. Mangum even called me after hours to make sure I was doing okay, wasn't in a lot of pain, and to make sure I didn't have any heavy bleeding. I highly recommend Mangum Dental to anyone who is looking for a top notch dental practice, or is just unhappy with their current dentist. You won't be disappointed!

I have been using Mangum for several years and Gail is my hygienist. She always does a good job on cleaning my teeth and I hope she does not plan or retiring anytime soon.

Had excruciating pain from an abscess over the 4th of July weekend. Called Dr Mangum's emergency number and he got back to me quickly. got prescriptions that substantially reduced the pain and was given an appointment a few days later. Dr Ransdell diagnosed the problem and referred me to a root canal specialist. Great people and very professional!!

By far he has been the best dentist I have ever visited. My first visit was in 2005 when I moved to PV and my wisdom teeth were impacted, causing extreme pain and absolutely making life miserable for me, my mom recommended Dr Mangum and he was able to remove my wisdom teeth and restore me to sanity. After that I proceeded with extensive dental work to remove all of the silver fillings I had in my mouth since I was a little kid, replacing them with white fillings, and then Invisilign to straighten my teeth after that. He always maintained a professional "chair-side" manner and throughly communicated the work needed and performed when I was there. I moved away from Prescott in 2015 and haven't been able to find a dentist that could ever compare. I really appreciate the work Dr. Mangum did for me and highly recommend him.

I just had my first appointment and cleaning yesterday. Everyone in the clinic was friendly, caring, and professional. Dr. Brett was very good in explaining to me the current condition of my teeth and the planned management. I loved my hygienist too. She had gentle hands. I would highly recommend this place!

The receptionist is a rude lady who blatantly lied by withholding important information from me. My insurance had Magnum marked as in network and when I went there for services she was aware of my insurance and that this issue existed. When I went on and said I came here since my insurance had this place listed still nothing from her. After my first visit I asked why the prices didn't seem to match my coverage she flatly stated that's what your insurance covers. It wasn't until after my third visit where I finally tried to figure out why my bill wasn't matching my coverage and called and had a back and forwarth where she basically said it is my problem. She took advantage of my youthful ignorance to gain the company buck.
