Dr. Manente is a native of Niagara Falls, and graduated from LaSalle High School. His interest in pursuing orthodontics grew out of his fathers passion for dentistry. Dr. Manente received his undergraduate degree in computer science from Niagara University. Even today as an orthodontist, Dr. Manente employs his natural knack for engineering to envision and construct the most beautiful smiles possible.

Given his outstanding academics, Dr. Manente was accepted into the State University of New York-Buffalo, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery with honors. To advance his knowledge in this field further, he completed a three-year orthodontic residency at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and graduated with a Master of Science. In May 2007, Dr. Manente became certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. He is an Invisalign Certified Provider, and specializes in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.

In 1996, Dr. Manente became a partner with Dr. John R. Whiteman. Their similar philosophies and work ethic are the key ingredients to running a successful, effective, and interactive practice that continues to thrive. One of the practices biggest landmarks occurred in 2011, when it moved to abrand-new office on Military Road, which enables our patients to be comfortably treated in a state-of-the-art facility with the furtheramenities.

Dr. Manente is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists(for which he has servedas president in 2018), the New York State Dental Association, the Eighth District and Niagara County dental societies, and the New York Society of Orthodontists, for which he served as president from 2010 to 2012. He is also a clinical instructor in the graduate orthodontic program at the U.B. Dental School.

Dr. Manente is happily married and has two adorable children. His favorite activities include coaching and playing hockey, long-distance running, traveling, playing golf, and spending time with his family. Dr. Manentes favorite vacation destinations include the Walt Disney theme parks, where he has participated in multiple marathons.

He is an active member of the Boys and Girls Club and has been involved in the Porter Cup golf tournament since his early teens as a spectator, committee member, and more recently, a member of the executive committee. He served as tournament chair in 2009.

Cheries been part of Manente Orthodontics since 2004. She enjoys getting to know our patients during treatment and loves seeing the big, beautiful smiles when patients finish! Cherie sets up the treatment area, seats patients, and assists chairside during procedures. She also offers homecare guidance and encourages patients to take care of their smiles health.

Cindys orthodontic career started here in 1981 and shes been with us ever since! She enjoys interacting with our patients and parents, and loves each final, wonderful smile! For Cindy, seeing a patients reaction to what theyve achieved is the most rewarding part of her work. She spends her days in the clinic:getting patients ready to see the doctor, providing education, and tracking and ordering supplies.

Joannes first job in the orthodontic field was right here, starting in 1975, after she completed an associates degree in dental assisting. She enjoys helping families optimize their insurance benefits and reduce treatment costs. For Joanne, watching patients develop a great smile they love to share is the best experience.

Joanne and her husband Bob live in Niagara Falls. They have two children and have been blessed with three grandchildren, too. Joanne enjoys crocheting, camping, and occasional trips to the casino. She and Bob belong to the Disney Vacation Club and visit Disney with their grandchildren at least once a year.

Sue started working in the dental field in 1993as a certified dental assistant, then became a preventive dental assistant and a certified dental assistant-level II. She joined us in 1999. She enjoys meeting new people and seeing the excitement in our patients eyes before and after treatment. Working with patients at the initial visit, Sue assembles the records, reviews the treatment plan and options, discusses insurance and financing, and answers questions.

Sue was born and raised in Canada. She and her husband Anthony have two beautiful daughters, Giuliana and Rosalina. She and her family enjoy camping, traveling, reading, fishing, and cheering for the Leafs.

Wendy started working in the field in 2006. She joined us in 2017 and is a certified dental assistant. Wendy enjoys seeing how transforming a persons smile can make them happier and more confident. She assists the doctor chairside during bonding and adjustments and also provides one-to-one patient care.

Wendys happily married and has two sons, two stepsons, and a stepdaughter. The family lives in Lewiston and enjoys time with each other, their two Golden Retrievers, and family and friends. Wendy loves to read, travel, garden, and hike, and spends most of the summer on the lake in Canada.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.

Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!

Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.
