Johnnieann began her dental career in 2001. She has assisted Dr. Makowski since 2004. Johnnieann is very passionate about dentistry and loves the beauty of a simple smile. A Denver Native, she grew up camping, fishing and enjoying the mountain air. She is married to her best friend and together they have two children.
Kathy has been a dental assistant since 1992, working in just two different offices. She loves working with a team that provides quality care and a doctor who truly puts the patients needs first. She is organized and efficient, and likes getting to know patients on a personal level. She is a 4th generation Colorado native, enjoys bicycling, backpacking, hiking and spending time in the back country during winter.
James W. Makowski was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended Whittier College, where he received his Bachelors Degree in Biology upon graduation in 1978. Then, he attended the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry and obtained his DDS in 1983. Since then, he has been providing individuals and families across Colorado with high-quality dental services.
Dr. Makowski served as a preceptor at St. Josephs Hospital in Denver from 1992 to 1995. He has also worked as a clinical instructor at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center School since 1993. His knowledge and experience has been acquired by completing hundreds of continuing education hours through prestigious schools like The Dawson Academy, Orognathic Bioesthetic International, Spear and Scottsdale Center for Dentistry, Seattle Study Club and Spencer Study Club. As a result of his extensive experience, he has a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of dentistry. He has successfully treated countless patients over the past 35 years, and he can help you, too.
