Dr. Guirguis graduated in 1983, obtaining his DDS degree from the faculty of dentistry at the University of Alexandria. After completing his residency, he went to postgraduate school and attained his Masters degree in restorative dentistry, endodontics and fixed prosthodontics. He then moved with his family to the gulf area where he worked as a consultant in restorative dentistry, focusing on delivering the most esthetic treatment modalities using the latest technology available. During his fourteen years spent in the gulf area, Dr. Guirguis was deeply involved in the field of Implantology in both divisions surgical and prosthetic. After completion of his international program at UCSF and UOP, he became a managing dentist in multiple offices in Western Dental, where he dedicated his professionalism to help treat many patients over a period of six years. Dr. Guirguis then decided to put all his experience and expertise acquired over the years into his own office. He took over a private practice in Vallejo and started MAK Dental, where he and his team enjoy the challenge of providing state of the art quality treatment, conservative family dentistry, and providing quality dental care in a comfortable and friendly environment. Dr. Guirguis is a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, SOIC, California Dental Association, as well as the Contra Costa Dental Society. He also invented a unique technique to help restore implants with close proximity which has been published in the Journal of Oral Implantology. Dr. Guirguis and his wife Nevein, are heavily involved with the raising of their son and daughter. He also enjoys playing the guitar with his son who plays the drums, in addition both of them share their passion for soccer. The whole family enjoys traveling, swimming, and numerous outdoor activities. Finally, Dr.Guirguis has a great passion for art which helped enhance his skills in his professional career.

Growing up, visits to the family dentist were exciting for me, I always hid around the office just to watch the flow of things. By the time high school came around I wrote,in my goals notebook, I will be in the dental field, ! Through the many obstacles of life,I managed to get my dental assistant degree after finished high school, and I have now been committed to the dental field for over 7yrs, but I am not done, I continued my education & can't-wait to put my dental hygiene degree to work, I love this, helping others smile & feel confident to be motivated in life.

I enjoy coming here because not only is it necessary for myself, but I appreciate that they get you in and out, no long waits, the staff is very friendly, which makes me feel less nervous and more at ease. The doctor is very mindful of your situation, and he makes sure you are treated with extra care.

This office is second to none. They make the experience if going to the dentist as gentle and as informed as possible. I always leave there with a thorough understanding of any issues with my teeth and gums, and a plan in place to address them. Everyone is welcoming and courteous. I must say they cleaning today was excellent. The new tech is definitely a fantastic addition to the team. This place was recommended to me a couple of years ago and I haven't looked back. Highly recommended!

Very comfortable office, all employees are super friendly! Also I showed up very early to my appointment and was taken in early (can't say that would always be the case, but the patient before was done and a few minutes later I was taken in).

The best dental experience I have been receiving for the past couple of years for myself and my whole family ... Dr.Mounir is very knowledgeable, gentle and always knows how to take the pain away ! Absolutely , no pain and we no longer scared of the dentist appointment since we started to be treated by MAK dental !
