Dentistry means a lot to me: at the end of the day, everyone will need a dentist at some point in their life. I love working in a field that impacts peoples daily lives and strive to put each person at ease, earning their trust and showing that a dental visit is not a scary experience.
Whether Im seeing a child at their first visit, brightening a parents smile, relieving someones dental pain, or restoring function, my focus is always on what is best for that person. I want their dental experience to be painless, efficient, and effective, and for them to have the best outcome.
Dentistry though, like all medical fields, is dynamic, with ongoing research yielding new technologies, techniques, and materials. It is my responsibility to stay up-to-date on the latest developments, studying and evaluating each before incorporating the best into patient care.
Through countless hours of continuing education meetings, lectures, seminars, and study clubs I keep current on the newest information. This gives me the ability to perform dentistry at the highest level, whichin turn, gives patients the best care and outcomes.
Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, my family and I now call Murfreesboro home. Megan, my wife, and I have four children, DJ, Zavier, Charles III and Maylee. When Im not working, youll usually find me with family. I am devoted to the Atlanta Falcons and recognize, it's a rough season. Always. I enjoy tending to my lawn and landscaping, and love grilling: ask me about my smoked wings!
I have traveled outside the country to provide dental care to others in need who otherwise would not have access to treatment. In 2016, I went to Uganda as part of the African Dental Mission and 2017 found me volunteering with the Haiti Dental Mission.

As someone who has a major phobia of dentist, while also having my fair share of visiting different practices, this was by far the best experience I've had. They were kind, knowledgeable and great at making me feel comfortable. Dr. Major was gentle and very attentive to my needs. They generated a plan that was best for us both and I am excited to continue working with them for my dental needs. 10/10 would recommend!

Being a skeptic of all dentistry in general, I did LOTS of research prior to visiting Dr. Major's office. I had major anxiety of ever being in a dentist's chair ever again from previous experiences at a local dentist. I hadn't received a cleaning in over a year and knew I needed to get it done. My dental health has always been problematic and I knew I couldn't avoid getting a cleaning any longer and risk needing more intense interventions. From my first visit, the staff helped put me at ease and calm my nerves. I sat in the massage chair room, relaxed, and then went to the dental chair. My hygienist, Ashley, had such a great demeanor and was so understanding of my needs. I look forward to seeing her every time. Dr. Major has gained my trust and has positively did everything he can to make the dentist experience more bearable. He has great bedside manner and actually listens to your concerns vs pushing what he thinks is right. As a nurse, I appreciate this because it's important to give your patients autonomy and decision making power. Today, after 4 visits, I have been able to withstand a cleaning and 5 fillings. My faith in dentists has been restored!

Dr. Major is excellent. Love the time he took to answer my sons questions and put him at ease. It was great getting to know both him and his staff. I will recommend Major smiles to anyone asking!! No one ever says they are looking forward to going to the dentist, but my family and I are!!

I went for my first visit today and it was great! Literally everyone was so friendly! Dr Major has some really cool technology in his office to be able show you what they see when examining your teeth. I'm so glad I made the decision to try out Dr Major and his staff!
